I think Jerry is throwing the '14 season

Just by bringing back both coordinators. I tried thinking about why he'd bring back Kiffin, but nothing came to mind. Maybe there's a QB he's licking his chops at (Jameis)? I don't know what his logic is, but I'm already ready for next off-season, pretty sad. I was going to go to 2 games next year, but not wasting my money on watching this train-wreck.

Even if I believe what you're saying (which I don't) the team isn't going to be bad enough to pick high enough to take a top 10 prospect.

I mean there's one thing IMHO that Jerry wouldn't do and that's throw away a game or season on purpose. I mean he does everything he can to avoid it.

The offseason hasn't played out yet. Let's see how the team upgrades on defense before we start with the "sky is falling" bit.

I'm quite certain you're not the only one who feels downhearted that we're standing pat with what we have in terms of the coaching staff this year. It really appears to me that he wants to avoid criticism for changing his coaching lineup haphazardly two years in a row. Guess we'll have no choice other than to see how this thing works out in 2014. It's a good bet there'll be a major shakeup if things fail to go well for us this year.

Yeah, many have written on this forum that it's going to be the "sink or swim" year for the 'Boys.

The schedule doesn't favor swimming, so there will likely be wholesale changes of the coaching staff, and a fairly high draft pick.

It may be a make or break year for Romo as well, so that high pick could indeed be a QB.

We can look at 2014 as a rebuilding year, but the staff will all be gone if a winning record isn't reached, so it would be the following year that the staff, schemes, and players' roles would all get rebuilt. This year, in the words of ol' #17, "we're gonna dance with the one that brung us", even if she's ugly.

No. Jerry isn't throwing away the season. Not intentionally anyway.

Jerry thinks his team is thiiiisssss close to being a Super Bowl contender. After all, we almost beat Denver. Played the Chiefs and Eagles tough. Packers too. Sure we were destoyed by the Saints and Bears, but those things happen in the NFL.

A couple of less injures on defense and a couple of draft picks and he wouldn't have to go to the Senior Bowl because he's getting ready for the Super Bowl. So why change coaches now when we are almost there? Just a little more input from Larry Lacewell and we are home free.

This is how Jerry thinks. He completely wrong and totally delusional. But that's what he thinks. And that's why he's not making any coaching changes.

Like Kiffin said. Pete Carroll's Seahawk defense in his first year was ranked 27th in the NFL. It will improve unless we have a gazillion injuries like last year. Scheme adjusment and injuries may have been the biggest factors to the bad defense. Scheme adjustment shouldn't be a factor this season. And hopefully the injuries won't be either. If so, I could see the defense going from #32 to around #20.

Whatever happened to those reports that the Cowboys were negotiating a retirement package for Kiffen?

Bad reporting? Or failure to get all sides to agree on a deal?

how about JJones wants to give Kiffen a fair chance since the scheme was pretty good in Seattle and his Dline coach might be kinda good also.

If he was throwing away the season, Miles and Ware would already be cut.

I'm sorry this just killed me until I thought of the pieces of the leopard suit being ripped off Jerry's naked body. Now I need therapy.

Shudder...
Great movie though.

Don't think in Jerry's mind he's throwing the season away either.

My biggest fear is that Romo goes down early, Orton replaces him and with a better defense is able to get us to 8-8 again. Jerry signs Garrett to another contract because he exceeded his expectations considering the circumstances, EVEN THOUGH all we did was go 8-8 yet again under his watch.

Garrett has always had excuses/fall guys for his own shortcomings. There will undoubtfully be another handy excuse for him the coming year. My faith in Jerry doing the right thing is non-existent these days.

He brought back the coordinators bc he doesn't want to have to hire assistants to long term deals then have to clean house after this offseason. It's all about money. It makes sense. Except for the fact that, it makes more sense to clean house now.
