So that makes 2. Hope Weeden can rush the passer. Wonder if they will take a look at Shaun Phillips.

Robert Ayers hasn't signed yet, but we better hurry because Cincy is having him in today.

He's heading home to talk with his wife

Apparently may get what they didn't want to give Dware.

He wasn't going to sign today anyways, his plan is to go home and talk it over with his wife.

Is anyone other than Rapoport reporting this? Because he's beyond unreliable.

We need to just overpay for Melton and sign Ayers for pretty cheap. That's the most realistic option we have at this point. Allen is gonna want similar deals that Ware/Peppers got, and we don't need to invest that much money in a guy that's 32. With Ayers/Melton you get two younger guys that will be starters and possibly big contributors, especially Melton. Plus it gives us more flexibility in the draft. If we sign nothing but no name scrubs, we'll be forced to take d-lineman in the first few rounds, which disables us from being able to fix out secondary.

Melton left and he ain't coming back to this 1 horse town. Melton is "all money - all the time" and don't forget it.

Ehhh I know. But I'd much rather overpay for Melton than Allen. And even though Melton left we can just call him and tell him we'll match whatever other offers he receives... and maybe since he's from Dallas we'll have the slight advantage... unless Seattle offers him a huge deal... we can't compete with that.

Well, if we can't outbid Cincy for the likes of him, all is lost in BigD.

Why would we want to outbid Cincinnati for Ayers?

Are we talking about a different player than I am familiar with or are we just that desperate for someone, anyone to come in and save the day?

Ayers would not impress me much beyond saying, oh, we got another body to go with the other bodies.

who cares, i thought people didnt want more big contracts or overblown. Allen or no Allen, Melton or no Melton, we are not one or two people away from winning anything. Let it go, our hopes for good players are pinned on the draft, anything we get in FA isnt going to last long or complete our puzzle. Nothing magical is going to come from these guys, expect for us spending money to achieve that goal. I can do that way cheaper.

Relax, all you need to count on is that the fact the Cowboys season will come and go and nothing to get excited about, nothing to hi five about. You have a gm whos dead set on not acheiving anything and hes ok with that, in fact he keeps himself in that seat to ensure you get just that. You have a HC training on the job, whats that tell you?

A few bad contracts go south so to fix that, you want to get back into bad contracts? No player is coming to dallas with the hopes of helping the team for a modest days pay, they are coming with dollar signs in their eyes like years, (hopefully) forgone, and thats it. Accept it for what it is. Our aging QB is not going to get healthier, facts and science be darned. Our best weapon is not going to propel use to the football gods pantheon, so dont get to excited over that.

You have more useless coaches, than anyone talking good common sense, and you have a aging defensive coach on the staff who still thinks the muppets will be on against MNF.

Relax, no player is going to change the culture of the locker room, change our coaches, or dare we hope do something exciting on the field.

Good. Phillips can keep moving too.

We don't need athletes that need extra time in the mornings to let the cucumbers soak on their eyelids and wash down a couple of bloody mary's.

YOUTH.
