DT Timmy Jernigan to visit Cowboys

It's not that interesting, Clarence. We need fort four help not DBs.

I like this though. With rumors of Jernigan possibly sliding into the 2nd round, we could come away with some key contributors on the defensive front pretty early next month.

Believe he would be a trade down target

I think I would like the pick in the 20s if Barr and Donald are selected early. Trade down, pick up an extra 3rd or 4th, and get Jernigan late 1.

It's going to be interesting whether they would take him at 16 or consider him a trade down candidate. If they take him at 16, so much for them not taking a 1 technique with the first round pick.

Why aren't we not brining in the safeties. We at least need to be taking a look and see approach.

Believe he would be a trade down target

I could see us trading down with someone like Cleveland @ 26 and still picking up Jernigan and a extra pick. He's still there in a lot of mocks that I have seen.

I'd take Jernigan at 16 with no hesitation. He's the versatile defender we need with that pick.

Now if there's a trade that offers better value, that changes things.

Jernigan got that blanket "he's only a 1 tech" label around here even though its not true at all. Jernigan would be a great fit in a Marinelli defense and would make a scary tandem with Melton. If Barr is gone I don't think you could possibly justify any DE over Jernigan at 16 and we haven't even looked at either of the round 1 safeties yet. Who else is there if no Barr, Donald, HaHa, or Pryor? I'd say there is a real possibility Jernigan is the Cowboys pick at #16 overall.

I'm not sure why people are down on this guy, other than like tm1119 said, they question his versatility.

Broaddus is a blessing and a curse. On one hand, we get awesome access to a Cowboys 'insider' on Twitter and get some really good insights.

On the other, he is the only 'insider' we have access to--so he's become the only opinion that some seek, though his opinions are 100% his own. As a result, some players have become afterthoughts among fans merely because Broaddus doesn't believe they fit.

Jernigan is one of the those guys that Broaddus will not budge on--that's he's a 1 and the Cowboys won't use a first on him. However, this is HIS opinion and fans need to be open to the possibility that he's wrong.
