Yeah from what I've read and heard the Sinister Six is going to get some sort of screentime at the end of the new spider man. They signed a director (Cabin in the Woods guy) to do the movie.
I just really need some sort of GOOD Venom movie after the Topher Grace fiasco in Spidey 3.

This is a internet short of Venom, not too shabby.

What the heck did I just watch.

If you picked the single best comic book movie from each of the last 5 decades they'd be DC movies. But Marvel certainly has been more consistent lately, and certainly has a better business plan, and executes it better than Warner Brothers does with DC in the big screen. For animated, DC is the clear winner, but no one really cares about winning that category.

There really weren't all that many before the last 2 decades, and the vast majority were DC. And the current decade Marvel would have the best movie (and of course the most movies too).

Even though I really enjoyed Avengers and Captain America 2, both of them don't come close "The Dark Knight" with Ledger as the Joker. One of the few Superhero films where I forgot I was watching one. Just a really good thriller with a believable villain. No villain has ever had that impact before or after. The Joker is a true domestic terrorist intent on world anarchy (using sociopath-type wit and current technology to enable his devious plans, not sci-fi enhanced toys), and little else. That is a real threat and possible in our vulnerable society. I believe that is why his performance was so impressive; people related his antics to our present "tension" concerning topics such as domestic terrorism.

Avengers and the Dark Knight... pretty much just comes to preference, IMO. There's no real 'right' answer. They both achieve exactly what they were going for and in grandiose fashion.

Cap 2? Good movie but not on the same playing field.

TDK executed the Joker character perfectly. I really like how they were able to portray him as completely insane without getting too dark.

I like Cap 2's story more than Avengers. Dark Knight, Ledger was great, but 2 face was bad.

PJ why did you ruin the nostalgia I had flowing in me :D You're totally correct, overacting and terrible special effects. Did you ever check out "Portlandia" btw? Remember you saying you're from Portland. It's a great show and very original. Kind've mocks us liberals in a clever way. The creators are Fred Armisan and Carrie Brownstein and they spoof Portland and liberal type fads, etc.

Actually I'm from Salem, which is about 40 or so miles from Portland. Seen clips of the show on youtube, but haven't actually watched it.

So apparently Ray Fisher has been cast as Cyborg for the upcoming Batman v Superman film. If you're wondering who that is, join the club.

Anyone else think they're trying to go too big, too fast and this movie is likely to be a train wreck?

Disagree, no comic book movie will beat The Dark Knight!

Ohhh, yeah. At the end of Man of Steel, he begins to work at the Planet. And now, they are adding all these characters into the next movie?!? At least have another stand alone Superman, then do this. Or, do another stand alone Superman, and Batman, then do a joint. DC moving too quickly to try and compete with the Avengers.

I dunno, man. Marvel has some pretty good ideas cooking, specifically Avengers 3.

They've been gradually building up this match-up between Thanos and the Avengers with the underlying Infinity Gauntlet storyline. They've done a good job so far and will probably continue to build it up over the next 4 years (set to release in 2018, I believe).

I love ALL comic books movies, except these new Spiderman movies, which I think are garbage. Avengers, just like Man of Steel, were toooooooo much action, and I don't like that, have some story. We will see with Avengers 2 and 3, but TDK is by far #1 IMO.

Spider-Man 2 with doc oc is bar far the best!

Think about it...which out of all the movies made you say, "oh, man that was cool"? ..... = Spider man train scene.

You're not alone. I feel that it's a mistake to include the DC Triumvirate, Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman, in a film together without first introducing the Amazon Princess in her own film. The continuity just feels slightly grimy to me.

However, if you're going to do the Triumvirate, why would you introduce any other heroes like Cyborg? I'm not certain if Zach Snyder is up to directing a storyline that seemingly will be all-encompassing. I would have more faith in Christopher Nolan directing, but the whole project seems like its bursting at the seams of believability before the first trailer has revealed anything to the public. And as far as Ray Fisher is concerned, my first thought was who? Hope he has the chops for the role. Victor Stone should be a character with a lot of depth.

The Dark Knight and it's not even close. It had quite a few "that was cool" moments. The train scene was so-so. And those Spider-Man movies really do not hold up well.

Slightly off-topic, but I'm really interested in how Marvel Studios will introduce Death into the Infinity Gauntlet plot. The old comics visage of Death was a cloaked female skeleton. It wouldn't bother me if they portrayed her that way, but I wouldn't want it to seem quirky. I like traditional images. I almost threw up when Galactus was shown as a menacing space cloud in FF:Rise of the Silver Surfer. That was one of the main things which devalued the movie for me.

If you are going for comic book fantasy to pages. Its not close. SM2 wins hands down.

If you are going by dark, dreary & epic. The TDK wins.

I want the former in comic-book-to-big-screen adaption.

Love the train scene from Spider-Man II, but I would go with Batman's capture of The Joker at the end of The Dark Knight as a comparison of cool moments between both films. Kicking the tied up henchmen out of the building was pretty slick.
