Would you bench Leary or Bernadeau?

If Martin/some other guard is taken in the first 3 rounds which guard does he take out? I didn't think the guards were terrible last year but I haven't watched any of the games this offseason to reevaluate.

Martin is better than both but would replace Verny this year.

I would replace Bernadeau to start because Leary is younger and needs an opportunity.. if he struggled you could easily go back to Bernadeau it isn't really a final decision either way.

A late Round Guard or two in this years Draft should supplant either or both possibly as early as Training Camp and at least by mid season.. if not sooner.

Don't know why we would select Martin in the first round. There are other, more pressing needs to trying to replace our guards, which weren't that bad to tend with, and either of our tackles, which I thought did an okay job as well.

If they select Martin with our first pick I will be greatly be disappointed. There are other more pressing needs that need to be fixed and it certainly isn't the Oline.

I have recently watched the last two games of the season and Mack was playing at a much higher level. That being said, Leary is a young player with upside. I think you start TC with Mack starting but you rotate reps to create competition and let the best man win. Let the play on the field determine who starts.

If he is the BPA then he is the BPA. Cooper was a better prospect last year but outside of that , Martin is the best guard prospect in quite a long time. That includes DeCastro and Warmack.

Tough call for a number of reasons.

Bench Leary:
Bern was better all around than Leary last year.
Leary has knee concerns

Bench Bern
Leary has more upside
Leary is cheaper
The better guard probably needs to be on Free's side since he requires a lot of help and Smith does not (Tyron Island Continent)

Of course you could probably just switch the guards around to accommodate that last factor

Whomever is worst at camp..

'Who' is a subject and 'whom' is a predicate much like 'he' is a subject and 'him' is a predicate.

Its definitely a pita but an easy way to tell correct usage is by inserting 'he' and 'him' and seeing which one works.

In this case what you did is equivalent to saying, 'Him is worse at camp' which is obviously wrong. Instead 'He is worse at camp' flows correctly.

I am not trying to troll you btw. What you intended to say to us was clear enough. Like I said its a pain but that is how I am able to remember what 'proper' usage is.

I wouldn't care typically but he is obviously trying to use the correct usage of whom. Most people don't bother with whom at all.

No hurry to bench either one unless the guy you pick in the 3rd is head and shoulders above those two. It would be nice to see a guy get a few months training or even a season before putting him in. That one season training worked wonders for Leary even though it was a position switch and he needed the whole season. It's a long season and an injury might make the decision for you anyway.

Neither!!!! Why in the world would you mess with the chemistry and the way they played last year?!! The OLINEMEN draftees should only be inserted in the lineup due to injury. There's no reason to bench either unless their play during the regular season dictates a change. If it ain't broke, don't fix it!!

With that being said, in your scenario I'd say Berny only because he better suited to be a swing C/G as well as Leary having more promise. I don't think folks realize that if Berny goes down, we have no one to back up Fred.

No chance. Leary and Bernadeau are both Pro Bowlers and are likely for the Hall of Fame.

Why would you want to mess with that continuity and talent?

It's unlikely a rookie third rounder would unseat either. We're probably looking for a mid rounder who could start if needed to develop.

We'll add a guy with starting experience after the draft.
