Contrary to belief, we're rebuilding

How did he learn recently? Ware got injured and they had hug salary cap expenses, because he wasn't gonna take a pay-cut. Ratliff just turned out to be a grade A mental head-case and Spencer got injured, right after a contract extension. Hatcher said he was going to test the market and try and make as much money as he could. They had guys off the street last year unintentionally. And they needed to fill their holes this year because of it. It has nothing to do with a rebuilding process and long-term vision on the part of Jones or Garrett.

Spencer got a contract? LOL it's incentive based, he might not even play so he gets vet min. We let Ware and Hatch go, that's huge for Jerry what are u talking about? A lot of the new contracts they've been doing recently are incentive based. The last big mega contract blunder is Romo..

Also u ignored Garrett's presser...

Are we still talking about the Cowboys ?

They have some questions, but I have faith in Claiborne, Carter and Wilcox stepping up big time after another full year in the system. They are still just 2nd and 3rd year guys and have had 3 different systems. I like the LBs and DBs and they did a major overhaul on the DL in one offseason. I think people are underestimating getting Melton on and getting Hayden off the field.

There's no rebuilding in Football... To much parity.. Coaching and a QB separates good from bad and the mediocre.

It's very hard to find a franchise QB. You don't rebuild when you have one. The idea we have been rebuilding is a myth. This team has always thought they could win with Romo.

The problem with this statement is that you can't have a franchise QB that rarely gets in to the playoffs, and hardly ever wins there. To me, that's not a franchise QB unless we've forgotten what one looks like. IMO, we don't have a franchise QB, we have a bus drive that occasionally puts up huge numbers against trash defenses. People hate when I talk bad about the guy, but tell me what's not true that I'm saying?

You are not just getting Melton on the field and Hayden off. Melton is replacing Hatcher who just so happened to have better year last season than Melton has ever had.

We are rebuilding. I agree. Which is why so many were outraged with giving up your 3rd round pick when you had so many holes to feel. Super Bowl contenders can get away with that. We can not. Forfeiting draft picks take a toll over the years.

Romo is far from a bus driver. I find it hard to call someone who averages over 500 attempts a season a bus driver.

Romo has 20 4th Quarter Combacks and 23 game winning drives in 7.5 seasons
Aikman had 16 4th Quarter Comebacks and 21 game winning drives in 11 seasons
Brady has 31 4th Quarter Combacks and 42 game winning drives in 13 seasons
Manning has 40 fourth quarter comebacks and 51 game-winning drives in 16 seasons
Marino had 36 fourth quarter comebacks and 51 game-winning drives in 16 seasons

That is pretty good company to be in. If he plays as long as Brady or Manning, he will put up similar numbers. Football is a team game, and it is easy to blame the QB.

Check his record on comebacks against winning teams or you can check his record of wins without s comeback against teams with winning records. It's not good. It kinda proves Clove's point. He is great against the bottom half of the league.

I would probably guess that is true of most teams or players. Either way, I don't think he is a hall of famer, but he can get it done if he has some help. He has had two of the worst defenses in franchise history in the last two years, he has endured some of the worst offensive line play we have ever had, and he has had Jason Garrett as his offensive coordinator for most of his career.

Why does it matter which team he lead the come back against ? His team was behind partly because his team wasn't that good to begin with. Further more we don't even account for Romo leading a come back only to be let down by our defense. We've seen at least a few of those.

I'm not saying his a hall of Famer but he's not a bus driver either.

He got a contract pretty much right after his MVP year but had the knee injury. We franchised him. That's not rebuilding. We thought we had all the pieces in place.

And of course Garrett is going to say that now. Who cares? He has a track record of the 'process' line. It's an excuse. They have no plan for even developing a QB as a starter.

Franchise Tag is a 1 year deal. What are u talking about? Ur acting like he got a 5 yr contract Donny...

The problem with that statement is that the last time I checked it is a team sport not a QB sport. Sure he is far from perfect but it's unrealistic to expect Romo to have any success in January carrying the entire team on his shoulders.

We gave him a franchise tag, because of his MVP season and we were afraid he would walk. What are you talking about? All four of our starters on that line were expected to be here and play out their contracts. That is why they went 4-3 and everybody was gushing about how it would let Ware just attack the QB.

Broken down parts, it happens just like that once great O-line from the 2007-2009 "Glory years" that we finally rebuilt..
What's your point? We have been doing exactly what Garrett said since then, Rebuilding...

So essentially your confirming that 'it happens', i.e. natural process. That is why I said it is called turnover. We haven't been rebuilding, we've had our same core players. BTW, Wade's last year was 2010. Players like Costa and Dez Bryant, as well as Sean Lee were drafted that year. These are the core players, outside guys like Romo, Witten, Ware and Spencer. We've gone after guys like Carr during free-agency, because we were a CB away. We hired Ryan and fired him. We promoted Callahan and demoted him, after demoting Garrett from play-calling and brought in Linehan.

The idea we've been following some sort of rebuild, grand-master plan is a joke, plain and simple.

Even though I wanted Manziel, I'm glad we drafted for need(s). Look at the teams that are competing in our division (Panthers, 9ers, Seahawks) who all have recently rebuilt.. We're drafting exactly how they did, beef up the o-line/ d-line.

A lot of people wanted to take a safety in the first which is understandable, but not every team is going to have an Earl Thomas in the back; content with ours for now (church and Wilcox)

I think we'll contend again in 2-3 years. My hopes aren't high for this season bc I'm not going to disappoint myself, per usual.

Just my 2 Lincoln's.
Every team is rebuilding every year. No one goes to a season with the exact same team as the year before. People don't like the term, but it is real.

I blame Aristotle for this. People just have to label things and put it in a categorical box. Aristotles' Categories was the inspiration for this mode of thought in the Renaissance and people trying to force everything into said boxes stunted thought for centuries. Not everything fits into a box.

Just got back from your Philosophy class, eh? :p
