Unrealistic Cowboys fans blame Romo

I'm critically of Romo because he frustrates me because he has such dumb moments for a guy with so much skill. I've seen Romo have games that even the golden boy Andrew Luck couldn't duplicate. But then I've seen him make plays that Mark Sanchez would know better to make. But, in all fairness, I can't say whether or not Romo should be compared to the elite QBs because he hasn't had a good enough team around him to have the kind of success they've had.

All in all, it MIGHT be Romo's fault, but we'll never know until we give him a good enough team to prove himself.

There are legitimate gripes about Romo, but yeah you can't blame everything on him.

He has been on some good teams that didn't accomplish anything.

Romo is not the only reason that the Cowboys haven't won a Super Bowl, but he will give a couple of games away every year .

Wake up. He wins more games than he loses. It is not fair for a quarterback who has to run for his life on every passing play to accomplish Brady Manning feats. But guess what he is near them anyhow.

As Belichick once said (and Staubach and Aikman, etc, etc) fans like that are a great football IQ filter.
End the conversation when they go there because it's like looking at an idiot spouting the n word 100 times or like someone who thinks we never went to the moon...etc.
Not worth your time.

Those couple of games will always have us coming up short in a division that requires i only 9 wins to make the playoffs.

You do realize this about to be Luck 3rd season right? When Romo came in he sat on the bench for several years and played behind a worthy vet.

I'm tired of running into "Cowboys fans" who immediately tell me that "For the Cowboys to win, they need to dump Romo."

Stats should not even be needed, you have to be looking at a really small picture and have a really short memory to come to that answer. You either are brainwashed by the Ed Werder's of the world or you JUST became a fan in 2007.

I have a hard time believing you watch every game and know the team. I ran into another "Boys fan" today and he blurted this out immediately and when I disagreed it was as if he thought Im the ONLY Romo believer left. At the same time this guy couldn't tell me 5 guys names on defense outside Lee.

Have we already forgotten what it is like living without a QB that can consistently put the ball in the endzone? I remember being thrilled the first time Bledsoe threw 300 yards.

Romo unquestionably gives the Cowboys the best chance to win in the short-term. Having said that, this is not the same Romo that we have grown to love over the years. He doesn't have the same arm strength or deep accuracy. He doesn't have the same elusiveness. And, I honestly believe, marriage and fatherhood has cooled some of his competitiveness. Just my opinion. I believe the Cowboys should start looking for the next guy very soon because I do not see him lasting for the extent of his current contract.

Defense aside, this offense, in my mind, has no excuses this year. They have all the necessary pieces to do serious damage this year: Good to great OL, clear #1 receiver w/good receivers behind him (I think), solid running back (when not injured) and a very good TE core.

What good is a an if he can't get you 9 wins in a crappy division? The same story the past 3 years, win and go home in the last week and Romo folds. The reason why people say we need to get rid of Romo is due to the fact he hasn't done enough or make headlines in those go home games. I know Romo is not a Brady but he is too inconsistent to win a sb with. People feel we would be better off looking for a qb that has talent to replace him. I can understand the arguments if Romo never won a sb but dude he can't lead this team into the playoffs...so why so high on the guy?

We need to build both lines, solidify the rest of the team and get a qb via the draft. That's not a knock on Romo but SF and Seattle have shown that allocating too much cap space to a qb will not allow you to adequately fill the rest of your team with quality players. Ever since the new CBA it's been more cost effective to draft a qb with the rookie wage scale and having him perform to a 7.5 to 8 level (1-10) is better than having a 9.5 qb that cost you 16-20 million a year.

He plays the same position as Brady and Manning, but that is where comparisons end. Wake up? I am one of only a few posters on this board that sees Romo for what he is. He is a good QB that has some big flaws in his game. Those flaws makes it hard for him to make the top ten at the QB position. Those flaws also keep him from getting this team into post season play.

It's always funny to me when these always-negative haters confirm what I've been saying all along. These trolls don't even watch the games, and they're not fans of this team. They're just here to make everyone else miserable.

I imagine most people stopped reading after - "What good is a an if he can't get you 9 wins in a crappy division?"

I dont like Romo but he isnt the problem in Dallas.

But Im willing to bet that these fans saying they need to dump him, arent as small and remote as people on this forum think. There are millions of fans who want Romo gone and have wanted Romo gone for yrs.

You can make a case for either side.

On the pro side he puts up point he makes amazing plays when most QBs couldnt.

On the con side he is wreckless with the ball, and in a tight game the odds are he will end the game with a int trying to force a throw
