It boggles the mind how JJ thought it was a good idea to let a rookie coach 'learn on the fly' while he had guys like Romo, Witten, Ware, etc. in their primes. This wasn't even a re-building team but he thought "hell, let him make a mistake or two (which end up costing us every year". I have a feeling that even if we go 4-12 this year Garrett will still somehow keep his job while the dozen assistants will get the ax

He's wasted the best years of our star players. He'll be starting on the next generation soon.

And Jerry, this fan owes it to both you and Garrett to not spend a dime on your product, which continues to disappoint and not be worthy of my money.

Thanks!

Hahaha Jerry quote threads are the best. The overreaction from fans over anything the guy says is pure comedy.

That's the result of fans truly believing that the things these guys say in press conferences generally matter.

THEY DON'T.

Jerry's job when speaking to the press is to a) sell the team to the fans, and b) keep the press from dragging his team's focus away from football. That's IT.

Jerry's selling us on Garrett because Garrett's the head coach of the Cowboys. Did you expect anything else?

Que the horror!!!

"He's trying too hard to sell us on Garrett! I don't agree with his rationale!!! JERRY IS LOSING HIS MIND!!!!!!"

Welcome, by the way.

I don't think it boggles the mind. When Wade failed, Jerry had a choice, hire someone who he was comfortable with (with someone like Wade or Jason) or go back to walking on eggshells (with someone like Parcells who he would have to make concessions to). Jerry chose the path of least resistance.

Jerry just wants to be comfortable, have fun with this toy, and be the face of the franchise. Garret not only lets him do that, but also puts up with inane comments like the one that started this thread.

It all makes perfect sense.

Um, do you see the disconnect there? lol...

Jerry goofed up when he hired Wade. First of all Wade was never a great HC and second he hired Garrett before Wade. Way to undercut your coach. The Cowboys were poised to be a contender as proof of that 13-3 team. It's been going downhill since then.

There's no disconnect.

If you know the guy's just trying to sell you on something, you can take everything he says with a grain of salt. So it doesn't matter what Jerry says regarding Garrett.

It's in Jerry's best interest for the fans to feel confident in Garrett. Right? So why should pro-Garrett sentiments shock anyone? How is this even news?
