Did anybody see Jerry talking to Babe Laufenberg about the Cowboys?

He was asked about a contract extension for Red, and basically said that Red is a better coach today, and that his gaining experience has been on "our dime." He said the experience gaining has come on the fans dime and the fans are owed the opportunity to cash in. In other words, the fans have patiently paid the price with Red, and payday is almost here - and HE, that is Jerry, owes it to all the Cowboy fans to stick with Red.

So Cowboy fans, Jerry is sticking with Red just for you!

good Lord, Jerry has officially lost it

Opie has botched games on our dime so we have to keep him ?

Seriously?

good deal, I am glad that Jason Garrett will get the chance to finish what he is building here. we will have another trophy soon, with Romo too. I have been saying this to people when Romo get the first trophy he will get another one before he retires, and Garrett will have this organization back on the right track. heck we are on the right track now. yeah we have been 500 for the past 3 seasons, but there has been improvement every season since Garrett has taken over, but the media has kept the focus on all the negative, disappointments etc, so it has been difficult for those that does not know to see the improvement

No he doesn't. I believe he thinks he has some potential but not to that extent. This is all about being able to control him and being comfortable with a head coach. He has a 20+ yr relationship with him and his family. He will NEVER be more comfortable working with a head coach.

They're homies. ;)

I dunno...I think a salesman who customers feel they can trust and believe in has a much easier time moving the goods than one whose customers are always rolling their eyes and laughing off his claims.

Yet they keep coming back.

I guess Garrett doesn't mind being publicly castrated.

The GM basically says he can't get rid of you because you botched so many games on our dime it would not be fair to the fans to let him go to another team now after all this training

Wow

Garrett's greatest strength is the ability to handle the ambiguity that follows every castration

Until there is an extension signed, it means nothing..... If jerry was totally sold on Jason, he would give him an extension. It's BS that no extension is needed.

Wow

That sounds painful. He's making millions though & that buys plenty of band aids.

I really don't know whether to laugh or cry about this.
No wonder we are the laughing stock of the NFL, this is pure comedy.
Even if Garrett turns out to be a good HC which I highly doubt, it's a ridiculous statement coming from an owner.

Glad fans never say something stupid
