These type replies will keep the thread from an early grave. Others not so much...

Yes, it clearly debunks the myth, "Aaron Rodgers won a superbowl with the worst defense in the league" lol.

To you all you haters of Romo. Cowboys will rue the day when Romo is no longer a Cowboy and retires. You will all wish you would have had the playmaker who can extend plays and avoid the sacks - and able to complete big plays during crucial situations. Romo isn't perfect. But he is truly an elite QB who has the propensity to win. Remember his first preseason game? When the clock was ticking he snuck it in for the score despite Parcells telling him otherwise. Romo is a winner. He is the best thing that came to is organization in the last decade.

Wait till we have to replace him with a drop back passer with no pocket presence and mobility whatsoever. We will regret why we didn't put more resources into our defense. We will regret having to hire Garrett who doesn't know squat about coaching. We will regret not building a oline earlier in his career.

Because if we actually give a darn about winning the Super Bowl we would have have done the correct thing and built a complete team around Romo. But of course we have Jerry to thank and squandered opportunity after opportunity. Its truly is a shame why were an elite team with Romo.

You may be right about the rueage but it won't be me. As far as I'm concerned it will take a team with the talent of the 90's and a leader with the respect of Aikman for this team to win again as long as Jerry controls the team, with or without Romo this team goes no where with our current GM/owner.

Aaron Rodgers had the worst defense in the league and still won a Super Bowl... Just saying.

I think they were 1st or second best in the league in turnovers though. Just light years better than Dallas has been putting out there pt wise too.
When the Saints won. It, the turnovers helped too.

4th Quarter Comebacks are a nice situational stat, but that's it.

It doesn't even begin to say why the team was in that situation in the first place, which could be for a number of reasons including poor QB play in the first 2 or 3 quarters of the game in which he registered the 4th Quarter Comeback.

Peyton, Brees, Rodgers......these guys:

1. Win more often.

2. Are more productive overall, particularly in TDs before the 4th quarter.

Consequently these guys aren't even in a position to get a 4th Quarter Comeback as often cause they're on cruise control in the 4th quarter.

I'd like to see 4QC%. How many is good and all but how often means just as much to me.

even the INT itself could be argued wasn't entirely his fault.. o-lineman stepping on his foot mid-throw coupled with Escobar running a sloppy route

He shouldn't have thrown it to Escobar , but to Murray, just saying. Having said that unfortunately that was the state last year with bad bad defense and OL pushing a meager running game and sloppy offensive methodology , using pass pass even when leading , only to give the ball back and add insult to injury (D fails again and game lost)

Of course I'm one of Romo's strong supporter , but putting everything in perspective, unfortunately since Jerry wasted the prime years of Him, Witten and Ware by not having enough depth and experimenting with 3-4 to 4-3 switch, so Romo can't be human , he has to play god like , not even room for .01 percent error

Peyton, Brees, Rodgers......these guys:.

...are better than Tony Romo. I doubt you will find anyone on this board who will argue otherwise.

But those guys have played on teams with real GMs and good HCs. Coaches who don't abandon their game plan halfway through the 2nd quarter because they are down by 7, and GMs who don't sacrifice having a roster of quality depth for shiny stars they simply must have.

Of course Romo has made his share of mistakes, but so have those guys. Payton has choked away more than his fair share of playoff games. And remember the Rodgers overthrow of a wide open WR a couple of years in OT that would have sent them to the SB? Fact is QBing is hard, and small sample sizes tend to paint pictures that are aren't always fair. The entire perception of Romo might be different if he doesn't drop a snap on a FG he had no business holding for in the first place way back when. The story line then would have been his game winning drive, not the opposite.

Not elite. Not clutch.

Tired argument. He is what he is. And that's a fun QB to watch but he's not going to win you anything at all.

If Romo had been traded to New Orleans when they tried to get him he would have a ring.

I was real disappointed back when Sean Payton was hired away from us by New Orleans. I knew Parcells wasn't going to be around much longer and wanted him to be our next head coach. He is what Garrett should have been.

I've been saying it for almost 8 years, Tony Romo is an elite quarterback who plays at the highest level, and a SB ring would safely secure him as the greatest or second greatest Dallas quarterback that has ever lived. Of course this is not a popular opinion among Cowboys fans, or NFL fans for that matter.

Surely fans will debate Aikman as a better QB, but having been a witness of both players, Romo is just a better quarterback, period. Aikman was blessed to have a great team in a non-salary cap era, which meant an easier path to the big games. Not to take anything from his greatness, I like Romo better. Ultimately ESPN is right; numbers don't lie.

Have people forgotten how great Staubach was? In any debate on best Dallas QB ever, his name must be mentioned.

I think back to Mike Myers and Wayne's World when he picks up the Strat and plays one note and the clerk jumps in an points to the sign - No Stairway to Heaven.

Too bad there isn't a clerk working the new thread aisle here and reminding - No Tony Romo and Numbers Threads.

Same people, same arguments, same posts, same results...

Rinse and repeat.

Of course its all the same stuff. What more can be said? Same QB. Same Team. Same HC. Same GM. Same 8-8 seasons coming down to the last week. Same, same, same same. Its like Groundhog Day every season it seems.

The Romo threads arent all that bad when you consider the Screamin A Smith and Skippy threads that get posted all the time. If a clerk is needed to monitor the new thread aisle it should be to fend off any Screamin A threads and THOSE who post them. The rerun Romo threads are like a breath of fresh air by comparison.

In other words, you got nothing. Just empty air vs. numerous facts, stats, and testimonials.

Yep. The usual fare around here.

Is this your monthly quota of posts or are you hanging around longer this month? :)

You guys can argue about Romo for the billionth time in the Rant Zone rather than eating up space on the Fan Zone. There's plenty of new print out there to discuss.

I don't know why some people needed these two from ESPN to point out to them whats been more than obvious for years. The only people who don't already know, and realize this, are people who either...

A) Have hated Romo for so long and have so much invested in his failure that they can't be objective or admit what is already been proven time and time again. They only care about being right so they're invested too heavily in him not being any good. These people should be laughed at and/or ignored.

B) Don't know a thing about the game of football and the QB position. These people should be ignored.
