Under Wade and Parcells, you basically had to drop dead to lose your job.
.

Wha? Parcells would bench you for not finishing your carrots at the team lunch.

Parcells was always all about churning the roster. Wade brought the premise that the 53 you left camp with were the 53 you went to war with, mostly because he couldn't be bothered with constantly finding new people. Garrett hasn't really improved on that.

Parcells might have been that way if he felt disrespected, but he was loyal to vets, even if their talents were declined.

Don't worry guys.. ESPN doesn't know anything according to the Garrett homers, unless they want to quote Todd Archer and Watkins about how Garrett's process is nothing but pure genius..

I'm sure you went over every other coach and factored all those similar sorts of handicaps in for them as well.

Jason is a fine leader, but he's not a good coach. He's had plenty of time to prove otherwise, and has yet to do so.

WE root for the guy because we're Cowboy fans, but if he coached any other team - this board would be full of people saying he's a bum.

If you can't get the job done, your not a fine leader. Your a politician that talks the talk, but can't walk the walk.

Garrett had total control of the offense. To act like he's never had power is utterly ridiculous. Jerry stripped him after seven years, while allowing him plenty of time to use his genius. Hell, he even sacked DCs and switched defensive philosophies to scape-goat for his Pet Project.

If anybody fits the mold of lack of power, it was Wade Phillips. But even then, you can't even say he had lack of power. Jerry gave him control of the defense. It's just that anything that remotely interfered with the goal of having the Pet Project become the anointed one wasn't given any attention.

More useless garbage from BSPN.
I don't care if he's rank 30th, or if he was ranked 10th. These mean nothing to me.
Of course we would like it more if ranked higher, but it still doesn't do much for me.

Garrett is #1 on my list, because he coaches the team that I root for. That's all I need.

where'd you rank dave campo back in the day? lol

Didn't read the article but it is amazing that there is no agenda AND Coaches that have no experience can rank ahead of any Coach that has wins in the League. Especially a Coach with more wins than losses....

He does have two more wins than losses , that is true but of course the difference is that his final game win against the Eagles in 2010 occurred when the Eagles dressed nobody of note. It is the only last game of the season Garrett has ever won.

That's ridiculous. If he's at the bottom, we must have Super Bowl talent to be going 8-8 every year. I'm sure we do not have that type of talent.

I think perhaps he over thinks situations.
I don't see him as a bad coach overall.

Haven't we all worked with someone like that ?
Simplify the "process" to get success. Then build on that success.

As teams build they can always go back to basics if there is a kink in the chain. The basics that made them successful.

Wonder how the expert insiders would have ranked Barry Switzer? He was 40-24 here and won a Super Bowl (we'll ignore the fact he inherited a roster full of Hall of Fame talent and Garrett has a defense that belongs in Conference USA).

Barry Switzer was a helluva college coach and accomplished more than Garrett could ever dream of at this point. 3 National Championships, 12 Big 8 Championships. 837 college winning percentage. Whats Garretts claim to fame again?
