Brent can return week 11

The big question for me would be his ability to work out at the Cowboys facility.

Scandrick can't but Hamilton can according to reports.

Aldon Smith will be allowed to be at the whiners facility according to reports.

They're saying he can start working out with the team at week 7. (Or was it after week 7... One or the other.)

It shaping up to be a much different looking defensive line over the last half of the season than what's there over the first half.

He can be at the facility starting week 7 doing drills and conditioning work.

Donte Stallworth set the the 1 yr suspension precedent, when he was convicted of DUI manslaughter. I wonder why Goodell gave Brent 10 games, and could be at the facility as early as week 7?

Interesting. I'm curious to hear what the rationale might be behind the length of the suspension here. Glad to hear he could practice with the team for several weeks before we'd be able to use him in a game. That makes the difference between it effectively being a full-year ban and him being someone we might be able to use late in the year when we're traditionally scrambling for bodies.

Thanks, I just heard that on the radio.

I don't get the point of keeping players away from the team.

Goodell seems to have a random number generator or magic 8-ball.

So, who gets released in week 7 to make room for a guy who hasn't played in almost two years?

Someone at the bottom of the roster, who probably hasn't been active yet this year. Could also be someone who the team thinks is just massively under performing.

I dont know what reason the nfl really gives.
But i think players dont get paid when they are suspended and while they are not paid they have no insurance in case they would get hurt during practice.

I think both are reasons players are denied to work out at team facilities. I also think this is something the owners/franchises want rather then the nfl or nflpa.

btw: its not like players arent alowed to work out with the team. They just arent allowed to do that at the team facility or in official team acivities. They can always meet in private with team members and work out.

Josh Brent will be allowed at the facility from weeks 7 to 11 while suspended but not from weeks 1 to 6.

I'd like to see a highly motivated Brent next to a highly motivated Sam.

For some strange reason, I do not see Brent being the key cog in a five game stretch run to glory.

Thus, this is of zero consequence to me.

He is right there with the other miracles we appear to be banking on, like Spencer and Lawrence returning to save the day.

You and others keep spouting that everyone is banking on these guys, yet I have not seen one person say such a thing in the last 2 months.

Right.

Must be part of their strategie to punish players. Not only to not letting them play but also not being together with team mates etc.

Guys, a general note here. This is a good topic. Let's not let it get washed away with a flood of posts aimed at doing nothing more than antagonizing the general membership. We've removed a couple examples already, but let's try to keep it on topic rather than lay a bunch of bait that does nothing but invite disagreement.

Thanks.

Donte Stallworth was suspended a whole year without pay for DUI manslaughter, and that was his first offense IIRC.

Stallworth also did not miss an entire year of football in the interim. He did his jail time in the off-season so it is a little different
