I know he has been working out and trying to get ready not sitting around. However no amount of workout can replace game action. I expect at this stage that he will continue to work out as he has. In 7 weeks he will be allowed back at Valley Ranch and week 9 be allowed to start working out with the team and in week 11 comes off suspension. I don't know how he will fair, frankly I don't think anyone knows good or bad. Lastly I know any screw up by him, any failed test and the league will likely ban him. Balls in his court

Court?

Last he was with the team he was not a starter. Yet now he just waits to rejoin the team. I don't get it, but when dealing with Jerra his genius is not to be mastered immediately. I trust Brent will be all pro after he rejoin us.

Last he played it was a NT in a 3-4, team feels he could be a better fit at DT in the 4-3. As for trust I think that is something Brent will have to earn and based on the conditions of his return and court order any screw up on his part and it is over with. I don't revel in people downfall, the guy made a mistake a very costly one and is getting a chance to get his life turned around. If he fails it is on him

I hope he can contribut. We are desperate as Chris Kattan trying to get a leading man role in a movie.

I listened to Brent's lawyer this morning on The Fan and it sounded like the appeal was more of the lawyer's idea than Brent.

When the lawyer was asked about the appeal, he basically tap danced his way through it saying that Brent was just happy to be back in the league but the lawyer was saying that it was unfair that he got that many games compared to Stallworth's case. (including Brent's retirement)

I think the appeal's just bluster so that the league can tell them 'no' and look a little bit tougher for how they handled everything. The lawyer's in the tough position of blustering without letting his client look unappreciative of the second chance.

I think it'll be appealed down to 8 or 7 games. As it stands right now, the league was able to avoid a PR disaster because Brent retired at the time of the incident, rather than demanding to keep playing until the legal process commenced. If they keep this ruling, I doubt any other player in a similar type of incident will do the same in the future.

I think it was just the lawyer trying to exhaust all steps in the suspension process on behalf of Brent.

You see it all the time where players appeal a suspension that they really won't get overturned. I see the same thing here in Brent's case.
