Adrian Peterson behind this Oline

Don't be surprised if AP never suits up in the NFL again. No way Jerry would touch him now, and he shouldn't.

I think it's directly tied to what happens with Murray.

If they can work out a fair deal with Murray, I agree that Jones would have no interest.

If not, they'll be looking at all options.

And I don't think a Top 3 running back gets kicked out of the league when the Josh Brents of the world get back in.

i don't think AP is playing next year. this is going to take awhile to work it's way thru the legal system. he may be spending some of that time in jail since he failed a drug test and he will get a suspension from the nfl. i think he could come back and play again if he does'nt get convicted of the worst of the charges but i don't think it will be next year and it certainly won't be early next year since he will be suspended

Read this:

http://www.footballnation.com/conte..._medium=referral&utm_campaign=crowdignite.com

This sums up the various factors involved quite well and I think it is what I and many others believe could happen.

That article ended with.....

" If the Cowboys can bring in Peterson and he can be the Peterson that he has been for a couple of years for them, and if the Vikings can get rid of the massive amount of money they currently owe Peterson, Dallas may have a new, "old" guy running the ball for them. "

Its no different than what has been said on here and it seems to have been written by a fan on here lol. It speaks about money but doesn't speak on why would the Cowboys save money. How does it benefit the Cowboys by saving money by not re-signing Murray?

I think you should re-read it:

"Back to the Cowboys. Why would they be interested in bringing in Peterson? Any team that decides they want to step into the waters of signing Peterson will no doubt play the, "Not many other teams are going to want you." card. And they are right. There are only a handful of teams that will even consider it and that will bring Peterson's value down."

Murray's stock has never been higher, therefore his asking price will never be higher either. And Peterson's stock has never been lower, therefore the asking price will drop accordingly.

Is this that difficult to figure out?

The trial date is set. I doubt the trial lasts long at all. There is also the possibility that it gets plead down before the trial even begins. He will get a suspension, but at most it will be 6 games.

And what does a defense do when facing a 'subpar QB'?

No doubt Peterson is a very good RB, so is Murray. He has had no control over the carries he has received but over the last 2 years that has increased and he is showing himself to be a very good RB. People talk of injuries? Hell Peterson has a long history of injuries himself but yet people are looking to him over a much younger Murray? I would just as soon keep what we have and continue to build instead of looking at the green grass on the other side of the fence.

Change the title of this thread to Adrian Peterson behind bars.

Really curtails his yards per rush.

The whole article is built on "if's" and "assumptions". Do you not see that when you read it? You can bold it or underline it if you want but its all saying the same thing to me. Its ASSUMING that Peterson will be as good as he was THREE YEARS AGO! lol. Its ASSUMING no one will offer AP any high priced money. Its ASSUMING only a handful of teams will bring him in. Its just full of "if's" and "assumptions".

When it comes to money I really don't care about Jerry's money to be honest with you. Hatcher and Ware made since because they were on the wrong side of 30. Overpaying Murray a bit will not hurt this franchise or stop them from signing or re-signing anyone.

And if all things are equal money-wise, I'm with you, keep Murray.

But, unfortunately, given all of the circumstances, I do not see that being the case.

Anything referencing future expectations could be labeled as such. What it is is speculation based upon available information.

Like the sins of the past didn't this year, right? (insert lol here)

Jerry can be the richest man in the world, but there's still a salary cap.

You attack an article based on "assumption" and then proceed to assume that Murray will be overpaid "a bit".

Interesting...

I don't think Peterson comes cheap and Dallas will not be the only team out there willing to pay him. I also do not like the fact letting go younger and getting an older RB. Personally I think this is all moot anyways it is going to be a while before Peterson will even come back if at all. Once courts are done with him NFL is going to hit him with a big suspension

As for Murray I think Dallas can get a deal done within the 7 mill range and that is fair and that is market value

apparently it is. i can't believe some folks still think ap will be commanding top dollar after this mess.

He will get it because it will be other teams in the running to sign him, that is if he comes back anytime soon it he is out for over a year why the hell would Dallas want him?

Gurley early next year.......
