Adrian Peterson behind this Oline

If it doesn't work out withwith Murray we're better off drafting a RB at less cost and spend on a FA at DE spot

Peterson just failed a weed test in court. Might be arrested for bail violation. Nope, I don't think Peterson will be playing for any team any time soon.

Just like the Josh Brent case, that only got his bail suspended. It shouldn't affect his case. The typical first offense case is probation. He also has the best attorney in the state maybe even the country.

No old players regardless of history, pedigree, blah, blah, blah. Insert your own accolades, particularly a running back. If we are paying a FA running back, pay the devil you know and keep DM. My guess is that if we don't come to terms with DM, we are going back to the draft. I'm getting the "feeling" that the success we are seeing now (including how well Martin's selection has turned out both press - important to Jerry - and performance wise) might, just might have turned on the lightbulb in the dimly lit area of Jerry's brain that in the past has done some pretty risky things that turned out badly both cap-wise and performance wise. Jason and Jerry are starting to look like they may make a good team since their tendencies seem to balance out.

Why do people think Murray will price himself out of Dallas but then think AP is the guy to replace him?

Rather pay Murray if it's one or the other but they should let him walk and get 21 ready.

Yes give 21 a chance to show his stuff.or a draft a rookie.....but AP wants to play in Dallas and his stock is falling hard....Minn could be forced to cut him before the season ends...ugly situation, getting uglier......while Murray stock is climbing.....possible rushing tittle...last opportunity for a good payday......its a no brainier....easy 1,2,3.... RB positions is worth $____dollars....dont over spend.... This OL will make a average RB look great....a good RB like a hall of famer... ...Cowboys have the leverage at this point

A lot of RB's will love to come to Dallas and run behind this OL.....

I can't even imagine AP in this offense with the way the OL is playing right now. The fact that he wishes he could play here and we'd be interested makes it painful that it hasn't happened.

Imagine Peterson beasting one of his big runs and then Dez doing his thing the next play. How the heck do you defend that team?

I'll be honest. This kind of makes me hate Murray. An irrational hate. Just because he's not Peterson.

Murray's contract will be much bigger than AP's.

I'm on board with the switch.

As talented as Peterson is, we don't need somebody that stupid on this team.Whenever the judicial system is done with this idiot, and he's ready to play again, he's going to serve a suspension. Most likely 6 games.Plus, I wouldn't give him big money, like he's gonna want.Let some other team deal with the stupidity that is Adrian Peterson.

he will also be a convicted child abuser most likely. I pass

there's no guarantee a rookie runningback would do anything, especially when you need them on critical 3rd down situations. Either give Demarco the money or get Peterson. We don't have time to waste hoping that rookie runningback shows up, especially with Romo's career winding down.

Someone has asked....actually MANY have asked lol.

You don't want to give Murray big money because people feel like he'll be finished in a few years but you want to give a 31 year old running back the keys to this organization lol. Unbelievable.

My sentiments the same. Murray is running with a mission. Yet people already want to get rid of him or trade him right now because they fear that he will demand too much. We are winning because of him. I think he deserves a reasonable contract more than anyone on this team including Bryant.

Wouldn't those 6 games already be served with being off the field right now?

$$$$$$$

There's the 'logical explanation'.

the money standpoint!

obviously if he's not willing to take a paycut then your point is valid. i believe wholeheartedly he's coming here to win for the first time in his career and he's willing to make sacrifices. he's not getting another outrageous deal from us or anyone.

i said it in the other thread, you don't call jerry jones in the offseason, beg to play here, then come play hardball at the negotiating table. jerry is going to sit him down and tell him, 'listen son, we've got a good thing going around here right now. you can either join us at a hometown discount and run behind this oline being the missing piece to a super bowl or you can go to oakland, take the extra 5-10 million and continue to do what you've done you're entire career, lose. what do you want?'

trust me AP isn't taking the Oakland deal....AP is going to be a Cowboy next year.

The money standpoint though? Are the Cowboys struggling with money? Are they struggling to sign any of their own players? The NFL is built where you can sign your own players or you can overspend on overrated free agents. I would think spending on your own would make more sense than on any free agent at this point.

Even the money situation doesn't make sense. Maybe if it was the NBA but in the NFL? Who are the Cowboys struggling to sign? They had "no money" and was able to sign Henry Melton this offseason.

So even on the money front it makes no sense. AP is playing for the vet. minimum either.

This sums up the various factors involved quite well and I think it is what I and many others believe could happen.

This is the point that many people simply don't want to accept.

One guy's stock has never been higher (guess who?), while the other'so has never been lower (guess again?)

One guy is in position to ask for big money while the other would be trying to salvage a career.

Any rational person can see which guy would be cheaper to sign, but bias trumps logic yet again.

I don't think anybody is advocating Peterson over Murray if all things are equal. If you are, speak up!

But they're not going to be equal. And at that point, you have to decide.

Murray at his peak for 4 years, $30 million, or Peterson for 3 years at $15 million? (Guesstimates)

My guestimate is that neither of those money amounts will be correct.
