Peterson is dumb.
Peterson just failed a weed test in court. Might be arrested for bail violation. Nope, I don't think Peterson will be playing for any team any time soon.
Why do people think Murray will price himself out of Dallas but then think AP is the guy to replace him?
Rather pay Murray if it's one or the other but they should let him walk and get 21 ready.
Someone has asked....actually MANY have asked lol.
You don't want to give Murray big money because people feel like he'll be finished in a few years but you want to give a 31 year old running back the keys to this organization lol. Unbelievable.
As talented as Peterson is, we don't need somebody that stupid on this team.Whenever the judicial system is done with this idiot, and he's ready to play again, he's going to serve a suspension. Most likely 6 games.Plus, I wouldn't give him big money, like he's gonna want.Let some other team deal with the stupidity that is Adrian Peterson.
$$$$$$$
There's the 'logical explanation'.
the money standpoint!
obviously if he's not willing to take a paycut then your point is valid. i believe wholeheartedly he's coming here to win for the first time in his career and he's willing to make sacrifices. he's not getting another outrageous deal from us or anyone.
i said it in the other thread, you don't call jerry jones in the offseason, beg to play here, then come play hardball at the negotiating table. jerry is going to sit him down and tell him, 'listen son, we've got a good thing going around here right now. you can either join us at a hometown discount and run behind this oline being the missing piece to a super bowl or you can go to oakland, take the extra 5-10 million and continue to do what you've done you're entire career, lose. what do you want?'
trust me AP isn't taking the Oakland deal....AP is going to be a Cowboy next year.
The money standpoint though? Are the Cowboys struggling with money? Are they struggling to sign any of their own players? The NFL is built where you can sign your own players or you can overspend on overrated free agents. I would think spending on your own would make more sense than on any free agent at this point.
Even the money situation doesn't make sense. Maybe if it was the NBA but in the NFL? Who are the Cowboys struggling to sign? They had "no money" and was able to sign Henry Melton this offseason.
So even on the money front it makes no sense. AP is playing for the vet. minimum either.
Minn QB's have been subpar there OL has not.
..someone had to ask.
Murray's contract will be much bigger than AP's.
I'm on board with the switch.
This is the point that many people simply don't want to accept.
One guy's stock has never been higher (guess who?), while the other'so has never been lower (guess again?)
One guy is in position to ask for big money while the other would be trying to salvage a career.
Any rational person can see which guy would be cheaper to sign, but bias trumps logic yet again.
I don't think anybody is advocating Peterson over Murray if all things are equal. If you are, speak up!
But they're not going to be equal. And at that point, you have to decide.
Murray at his peak for 4 years, $30 million, or Peterson for 3 years at $15 million? (Guesstimates)
