Overall I don't really care about the Commanders past wanting to see Dallas beat them at every opportunity. I feel the same way about the Giants.

The Eagles, though...

On what planet has Marinelli been a downgrade from Kiffin?

Marinelli was broken in his Head Coaching job. Kiffin has a Super Bowl ring as defensive coordinator, and is the inventor of Tampa 2.

Losing Hatcher. Major Downgrade
Losing Ware. Major Downgrade And yet the defense is better?
Losing Lee. Major Downgrade And yet the defense is better?
Demoting legendary Monte Kiffin and promoting Marinelli, the boy he trained. Downgrade.
And yet the defense is better? In what Bizarro Universe is this true?
Attaining Martin. Major Upgrade. Got this one right anyway. So far, he's a Pro Bowl rookie.

4 Downgrades (3 Major) to 1 Major Upgrade

On paper the Commanders should have a better chance than they did against the Cowboys last year for the reasons listed above. At the very least, there is no logical reason it shouldn't be as competitive as the 2 games were last year.

What "paper" is that? Toilet paper? Because this comedic attempt deserves to be flushed!

Good thing we're not asking him to be a head coach then!

Any other dumb things on your mind?

I always disliked the Skins. Remember Dexter Manley and his story how he could not read?

Remember Harvey Marttin and the skin's fan sending a funeral wreath to the Cowboys locker room? After Dallas beat them in Texas Stadium, he carried that wreath to their locker room and walked in a tossed it down.

There were the Skins
who thought they were men
And then there was Martin.

In the event you want the whole story:

The play where Cole broke down the Commanders offense and caught Riggins behind the line was a counter trey. They lived off the pulling guard leading Riggins to the outside. it was the same play Riggo scored on the 66-yarder. Cole read it and ran through the hole vacated by the guard and caught Riggins behind the line. Just enough to get the ball back to Dallas and Roger.

I would agree but insulting 1.3 billion people just doesn't seem right.

Well Dallas, those 1.3 can easily avoid this by simply buying a Cowboys Jersey. No problem is so big that you can't find a good solution to if you put your mind to it.

Losing Hatcher was a downgrade, but I wouldn't call it a major downgrade since Henry Melton and Tyrone Crawford have been filling in. In fact Crawford had been a bright spot and looks like a future star (in the pre-season I didn't believe in either Melton or Crawford, but Crawford especially has proved me wrong).

Ware is downgrade, but you forget that while the Cowboys miss his sacks he was playing hurt for most of the year and had one of his lowest sack totals as a Cowboy in 2013. Mincey has actually been a very physical presence that this defensive line did not have, also Anthony Spencer did not play at all last years and looks to be getting healthier

Lee is also a downgrade, but again not a major one because, Rolondo McClain has stepped in and provided a physical presence that even Lee doesn't have. As the season progresses it looks like McClain could be the MLB of the present and future.

The Demoting of Kiffen is not even a subject worth mentioning because the 'proof is in the pudding'.

Your 'paper' is worthless.

Not sure I agree with your reasoning. But I do expect the game to be close for a while, and to be hard fought. These two teams differ from last year, though, and by a lot more than the personnel changes you just mentioned.

Jerry Jones would be the right person to make that idea a reality. The guy could sell fur coats in Timbuktu if he set his mind to it.

Without a doubt this is some of the most warped, bizarre, nonsensical logic I've ever seen in the zone.

Does not even warrant a well thought out, legitimate response.

How bad are they? Dave Campo, the worst Head Coach in our History, was 5-1 against them. One third of his total wins came at their expense. Dave Freaking Campo was their Daddy.

BAHAHAHA.

This is definitely my favorite random Commanders-Cowboys fact/stat.

How embarrassing.

There are some deluded fans on both sides up here in DC. But do the most part, most Cowboy fans and Skin fans are cool with each other. DC would be so much better if they weren't our rival.

Did you read the story about the Commanders game at RFK when the fan after the game hit Charlie Waters with a beer bottle and broke it over his head?

It was a great story. Charlie and Cliff Harris went up in the stands and started beating the **** out of the Commander fans.
