I absolutely knew Weeden sucked horribly. ANYBODY that says different just has not watched him play or they have an agenda. This season is pretty much gone if Romo is done. Like another poster said, Romo is worth 5-6 wins, the rest of the team is worth maybe 4. Marcus Marriotta or Manziel or bust.

But it didn't have to be that way. They had no succession plan in place and made horrific personnel decisions there until they brought Bill Parcells on board to do their job for them.

It's an indictment on the fraud front office that still exists today. If like after Romo ends up being what we saw today, blame those two complete morons.

Go Cowboys, by the way. I won't apologize for being a fan.

I don't really disagree with you but when did the Cowboys really ever have a successful plan with QB's .. Don't get me wrong the Staubach to White transition should've gotten us at least one ring but the team was getting too old on defense .. But man it wasn't exactly White to Aikman without a Hogeboom, Pelleure (spelling) and forget who else graced us ..Aikman years it was always a stout vet backup capable of winning a few games .. But that stretched on too long and we never looked or drafted a successor .. That's all on Jerry just like him bringing this heap of garbage Weeden in to back up your 2 times operated on 100 million dollar man and crossing his fingers .. What were our options though ., I mean you would think we could have signed someone better .. Anyone .. But who ??

JG being a career backup QB should have known better if he was this great talent evaluator everyone makes him out to be .

Only thing that was confirmed after this game is this team would be stupid not to go QB in round 1 of next year's draft. Weeden reminded me of Hutchinson and the throwing mud against the wall mentality displayed after Aikman was released. Dumpster diving sounds right.
not really dude. theres talent in later rounds for qb, the team is on track and needs help early for defense. if you drafted a guy in the 1st next year, you going to sit him behind you 100 million dollar qb? the defense needs help. BAD. if you got a strong defense you can give the ball back to your offense.

for me, I would think serious about cutting Weeden and if Romo goes down again to at least see if Vaughn has something. Weeden has a strong arm but no touch and worst he stares down receivers.

either way you build the trenches first.

I wanted to draft Drew Brees in 2001. But hey no first rounder because we traded for Joey Galloway. That would have reduced the pain in between Aikman to Romo.

They could have still positioned themselves for Brees if they wanted to.

But why do that when their crack scouting had such a gem targeted like Quincy Carter?

Wait....so people think there are great backups to be had in this league?

We don't even have enough competent starters yet alone backups.

When you go to your backup QB you're usually dead in the water.

Using this as a referendum on the GM is silly.

Don't be silly.

They won't draft one in the 1st but 2nd/3rd sounds good . Get a stud DL then QB .

I know I was not crying for weeden to play. the guy was a complete embarrassment out there today. he was like some of you guys said today looked just like chad hutchinson. I thought I was watching the 2001 cowboys again today. I really hope that the jones start to think about the future now and plan on drafting a qb in next years draft. I also hope that those clowns (jones) do not wait until the seventh round and draft one. also I hope that they do not think that they will just luck into another undrafted free agent either like they have with tony romo.

Jerry probably thinks that he found Romo.

So....yeah. Assume the position and brace yourself.

I guess the debate about putting Romo back in last week or sticking with Weeden is over now.

Look here guys....the Cowboys scouts are the only ones to miss on a starting QB prospect in the National Football League!!!!!!!

Let's say we had drafted a QB as a backup in last year's draft... how would that have been better than what we saw today? Bridgewater, Carr, Bortles, etc. have all generally looked terrible as it is, and that's with several starts under their belt. If they were on our roster and making their debut today, I can't imagine how awful they would look. Well, I guess I can...

I think Romo is outstanding, but no, this is not a true preview.
Brandon Weeden does not "represent"

Face it, Orton screwed us royally in the short term.
