I think this sums up Weeden's performance against Arizona

WEEDEN'S PERFORMANCE

We know Weeden had a poor game. Watching the coaches film only confirmed it. Weeden predetermined his reads at the line of scrimmage and forced throws into coverage. This also caused him to leave plays on the field. There were times, if he had just scanned the field, he would have had an open receiver for a medium or deep pass. Granted, Arizona probably has the best tandem of man corners in the NFL in Peterson and Cromartie but there were opportunities for plays to be made and Weeden couldn't deliver. I have to mention that Bryant didn't help the cause with a couple of drops.

There were quite a few examples I could include but these two plays illustrate everything about Weeden and his performance.

Weeden tries to connect with Bryant and misses. He ignores the man beater route to his left. Beasley runs across the field wide open for the first down. Weeden predetermined his read and forced the throw into Bryant. I'm sure they looked over that play on the sidelines after and saw Beasley wide open. Would they (Weeden) learn from their mistake?

If you didn't notice right off the bat, it's the same play call with the same formation and personnel. As you can see Weeden again ignores the man beater route and again Beasley is open. Instead, Weeden tries to force the pass to Witten which was easily picked off. That interception essentially sealed the game for Arizona.

Yeah but as Jaws said it wasn't his fault. Cmon guys he wasn't all that bad.

Jeez that is absolutely horrible. Dude just focused on his 1st read.

How dare you make this thread. Don't you know that Jaws already said it wasn't his fault? And he knows more about football than all of us on this board, collectively. Including your nonsense all 22 that you're using to show these facts.

Witten also got open in the first play. Maybe that is what they learned and so he forced it in there the next time.

A big reminder that if weeden is in we have a very strong chance of blowing the game

Good post. I was watching the game on a crappy stream and could still see Weeden staring down receivers.

Zero reads. None.

One thing positive I take out of Weeden's performance it has united this board on one common denominator. WEEDEN.

Never see so many of us in agreement for once.

Weeden isn't Romo. That fact that he's keying in on receivers or keying in to his two best options in Dez and Terrance should come as no surprise. The surprise is their lack of separation.

Its pathetic because that is what you expect of a rookie QB, not one who has over 20 starts in the NFL, had a full training camp with reps and continues to have weekly reps during the season. The guy does not appear to be getting any better and has no business in the NFL right now.

No excuses for him. Jaws would like nothing better than have Weeden as QB for Dallas.

Mark it down...................if Weeden plays against the Jags, we will lose.........................yea, the 1-8 Jags, let that sink in for a while.

Real bold prediction there.......

Weeden couldn't beat a top 5 college team :(

It really is hard for me to believe a pro could be that bad. In the first one Beasley almost blocked his site of Dez. He still managed somehow to lock on.
I guess that shows great concentration at least. :(

you mean kinda like going to a buffet and locking in on the salad and loading up your plate, not looking to see that there is steak at the end....

Fredd does not like weeden

LOL. Wow. Making excuses for Weeden eh? Williams had seperation, he had his man beat by 10 yards, where did weeden throw the ball, on the ground, 10 yards behind williams, would have been a touchdown in my eyes. You should really watch the game again, Bryant had what should have been catches if the ball wasnt behind him, on top of him, or 10 feet away from him. Weeden blew basically every throw.

Totally agree on the first. On the second the linebacker is waiting for Beasley. I know Weeden didn't see that but I don't think it would have been as big a gain for Beasley the second time
