I think this sums up Weeden's performance against Arizona

I remember that first play quite vividly, I was screaming at the tv that Beasley was open haha

Its pathetic because that is what you expect of a rookie QB, not one who has over 20 starts in the NFL, had a full training camp with reps and continues to have weekly reps during the season. The guy does not appear to be getting any better and has no business in the NFL right now.

No excuses for him. Jaws would like nothing better than have Weeden as QB for Dallas.

So true on all points. Oh, and I loved Mike Golic's response to Jaworski's "analysis." When Jaws finished, Golic quickly said "I agree completely." Oh, so you broke down all the game film too, Golic? How could you possibly "agree completely" unless you had? These two former bozo Eagles players could not be more obvious with their bias.

A big reminder that if weeden is in we have a very strong chance of blowing the game

Totally agree - this notion that we can beat the lowly Jags with our backup QB is just wrong. There is not a single team we can beat with QB play like that.

Weeden sucked against the Cards. I get it.

I'll wait until this next game to determine, however, whether he is a legitimate back -- some who can come in at any time during the game/season and win a game or two -- and not some spare who needs to be bagging groceries at the Hyvee in Carroll, Iowa.

Beasley could have easily gone for 50 yards on the first play. Sigh.

Seriously. I am trying to justify Weeden not throwing to Beasley.

It has to be that he is so little and couldn't see him??

Nothing else makes sense...

I've been told by prior NFL qbs and college football players that it is unfathomable that Beasley would pick up a first down on this play. @Idgit.

I can't take that.

I just can't.

How this dude wears a football uniform, with a QB number mind you, is un-freakin-believeable.

Totally agree on the first. On the second the linebacker is waiting for Beasley. I know Weeden didn't see that but I don't think it would have been as big a gain for Beasley the second time

The ball thrown on target the LB would've never caught Beasley.

He's four yards off him.

Even if not, I can see peterson peeling off and making the tackle. It's less of a sure fire play than the previous one was for sure.

I'm less upset about the second one to be honest. 9/10 times Witten makes the play. The throw was late, but that comes from playing football.

Weeden isn't Romo. That fact that he's keying in on receivers or keying in to his two best options in Dez and Terrance should come as no surprise. The surprise is their lack of separation.

Really?

Did you not see three defenders converge on Dez in the first one?

Know why? Because Weeden never took his eyes off of him.

Had Dez caught that ball he would've been trucked.

That's why they have check downs and more than two receivers on the field.

Oh yeah. The check down receivers............they were open.

Making the tackle is a 50/50 proposition. If the ball was thrown immediately when Beaasley got open, he could've cut up, which he's great at. Done.

You could've left out the underlined part..............he was late all day.

I'm not arguing here. It's easier said than done and I'm an awesome arm chair QB. ;)

Bottom line is Weeden eyeballing his receiver of choice again.

Makes it a WHOLE lot easier on the defensive backfield.

Yeah I'm not defending Weeden on play two, but to me it's slightly less cut & dried than the other plays. A way of putting it would be that if he had a strong game around it, the INT there would be understandable at least. Good play by Matthieu. But with everything else considered....nope.

As bad as Weeden was throwing the ball, I am not sure he could of even hit Beasley. Beasley is so small Weeden was like no way man, aint happening.

Lol. I just imagine him gunning the pass to him when all he needed on the first play was a floater.

Probably right but at least it wouldn't have been intercepted. i think.

By the way, it's plays like this where I get frustrated at placing blame on the coaching staff overall. I think the one major mistake they made was the playcall on 4th and 1, which was disastrous. But when you are calling plays that are springing guys open on a regular and your QB doesn't even consider it, I think it's hard to lay that at the feet of the coaches.

Yeah great point. The coaching staff called plays where Weeden could succeed and make plays and he didn't make them.
