9-7 what is the plan?

If we end up 9-7, what it'll tell me is that we need serious help on defense. Occasionally, your offense might struggle, but for us that's pretty much an automatic loss. It really shouldn't be that way. And this pattern that's started of us getting down by 2 scores almost immediately and then having to climb out of it is also a sign that we need serious defensive help.

I guess we all knew that, but that 6-1 start and how well the defense was playing is feeling pretty far away right now. As far as coaching changes and changes on offense? I don't think we need any coaching changes. I think we're moving the right direction. On offense, I'm starting to think Williams just isn't good enough to be our #2 wideout.

And I am sure this will be the mantra. Lamenting about a bad division and how that screwed this year's Cowboy team from getting what it deserved.

Sorry.

We deserve what we get with what we play out with.

If we can't beat the Bears, Eagles, Colts and Commanders to make the playoffs, it is what it is.

Talking about what ifs and so on is nothing but pandering pathetic excuse making.

That isn't what I meant... I meant, if you were evaluating the NFC south winner, someone is going to make the playoffs from that division so you couldn't just look at their W/L record and jump to conclusions about their season. The Falcons could increase their win total, make the playoffs, and still not necessarily have done a good job this year.

Okay.

So, you can never look at record, unless it is Dallas. Am I right?

Otherwise, please clear it up for me and everyone else who has read this thread to this point that has a functional brain.

It doesn't make any difference, and please stop embarrassing yourself with this biggest collapse in franchise history nonsense. You're showing your age.

Doesn't make a difference huh? Please explain? Please sure the last time this team went 6-1 and missed the playoffs? You're the only embarrassing themselves

If we finish 9-7 then you have to fire Garrett. After 6-1 there is no reason to then finish 9-7.

Now I don't think we finish 9-7. I think we beat Chi and Phili. The Colts are I bet rated. They lost vs all the good teams they played.

Now I don't think we go 4-0 but I also don't think we go 1-3.

We need to finish 11-5 in my opinion for Garrett to stay or 10-6 with a play off win.

Yes, and if not, I think Jerry will see quite a few empty seats next season. Garrett has had more than sufficient time. Another collapse cannot be tolerated.

What is there to clear up? Everything I've said is crystal clear. As usual trying to decipher your crybaby pessimism is near impossible, so what is it you're trying to say? Since there is no scenario that you want to bring back Garrett anyway (including a Super Bowl win) precisely why are you going round and round about this? Everyone knows your agenda by now.

For the last time, it doesn't matter how you arrive at your record. Stop embarrassing yourself.

I'm just not sure looking at what Chip has done in 1-2 years with garbage at QB should be looked at. I agree about Williams, but not just him we need more Wrs outside of Dez. In the offseason we all felt pretty good about it, but Williams inability to catch with his hands and beat separation is very alarming. This team refuses to use Harris outside of blocking. I do agree this team needs more talent on defense. But going down by 2 scores isn't just on the defense it's on the coaching staff and the play design and game plan. We never seem to attack the middle of the field and we should be able to win off play action more then we have.

Are you serious?

There are a lot of reasons.

That was just a shell game with the record and so on.

It only happens that way when you sit back and think you got it figured out.

Look, this season is not over.

We could beat the crap out of Chicago and steamroll Philly.

But honestly, I just don't see this team's character that way.

That is the real deal, I just think we lack championship character.

We definitely got .500 character.

Dad let's us drive slow on the drive way.

Definitely got that.

Jason will be given more defensive help and a extended contract gitty up

Oh boy... So you have the same expectations at 2-7 as you do at 7-3? I'm just trying to understand that here because if you do this conversation is done and there is no point. I can't see how the expectations are not different. Yes the end result is what matters, but how you get there and the circumstances makes a difference and you're fooling yourself if you think otherwise

"Crybaby pessimism" but recent history is on his side while Jerry yes men (you on his payroll or something?) support this mediocrity season after season. Your old and outdated attitude doesn't fit the parity era

Not a Garrett fan, but if he wins the Super Bowl, I guess I'd have to admit something is working.

I don't understand this low IQ stuff about a 6-1 start. It makes absolutely no difference what order you compile a record. If we started out the year 2-7 no one would be impressed if we finished the season 6-1. I know this will be hard to understand, but look at the record on the last day of the season and make your judgment from there. The start is irrelevant and anyone with an IQ higher than 35 can see that.

I'd actually be encouraged if the team finished strong for a change assuming that meant we had a young team that was improving as the year progressed vs the end of year downer that leaves me pretty hopeless year in and out

Having said that, I do agree you should look at the year as a whole and try to determine what happened and why and proceed from there.

Its getting pretty precarious with Romo getting up there in age and the back injuries. Do you go nuclear and try to sign a bunch of high priced guys and kill your cap or simply keep plodding along and hope Romo will still be competitive if and when they can field a roster good enough to compete for it all.

I just hope they are brutally honest in their evaluation of every single player and make whatever difficult decisions that may be necessary and get them right

I don't normally "debate" with you, it's pointless. Like I said, you're a sarcastic, miserable crybaby with very few redeeming qualities who tries to go in circles with everyone. However, that sarcasm does make you say a lot of clever things at times, so I give you a fair share of "likes". Carry on.
