Free expected to miss 2 weeks

I disagree.

Jermey Parnell had some bad plays, more so in the run game than in pass pro, but his performance did not suck last night.

Parnell played the entire second half and kept Tony Romo clean.

The coverage sack was on Romo.

I don't know why it's a bad thing to have a solid swing tackle on the roster.

If you like Free, you don't have to rip Parnell.

I'm a Parnell fan and I'm glad for the year Free is having. It benefits the team.

Well that settles it dial up the old JG offense because if last night was any indication we got zero push after free and martin were injured.

The drop off from his play from Free was noticeable last night.

It coincided with the injury to Martin, too, though. Don't get too carried away by Collinsworth speculating that the issue was Free being out. Though Doug Free is obviously a better player in the running game. Parnell did a fine job stepping in for him in crunch time against a pretty dang good DL.

the colts def isnt good. Commanders are waiting for tee times.

we have an edge about us. and all it does is make us feel more adversity. r-e-l-a-x.

Also they have some injuries of their own. Ty Hilton pulled his hamstring yesterday, he's going to play but won't be 100%. Maybe Carr can run with him if he's hurting. Their run defense isn't very good and if Martin plays like he played last night we'll be okay. He hurt his ankle in the game and didn't come out and I don't remember seeing any drop off of his play. We'll be alright.

If Hilton had a broken leg Carr still wouldn't be able to keep up with him.

Martin was hurt before Free went out. Free didn't have as much issues with Martin being hurt as Parnell.

Tough to say. Martin got hurt at the beginning of the second quarter. I think Free played about a half. And that second half of the second quarter was all PHI. It's not exactly surprising that the right side of the line would struggle when it loses it's RT and hobbles it RG like that. We still held up in pass protection, though, which is the most important thing.

I'm not commenting on the right side of the OL but that Parnell sucked compared to Free last night. As I said, Martin was hurt before Free went out. Free didn't get pushed around like Parnell did. Parnell did not play as well as Free last night.

Sorta. From what I understand, the chances of them getting anything better than a 3 seed are pretty remote at this point.

No but they can get past by the Steelers for the 3 seed if Pitt wins out and Indy drops a game. You want to get the 3 seed to play the weakest wild card game in the first round and then avoid New England the next round. They still have a lot to play for in that regards.

The Dallas offense is set up to fully function with a nicked up running back, offensive guard, or offensive tackle.

It's never a good time for injuries, but why now? We may be withou Free, Martin and Murray in these two critical games. We need to win out despite the injuries.

Next man up.

I think this team can overcome this stuff.

We have some depth to fill in short-term.

Which one way or another is all it needs to be.

Did Cox beat martin after he got hurt? I thought it looked uncharacteristic of him.

it's a tough week to have injuries after taking over the division lead....being a notre Dame fan, it reminds me of 1993 when ND beat FSU (#1) in the second to last game of the season to become #1 with only boston college in their way...alas, they lost their last game and their chance at a national title.....

...stay strong Dallas....must win this week....

In all honesty, almost everybody at this point in the season is nicked up in some way, be it sprains, pulls, bruises, fractures, ect....

Including the preseason, some guys on the team are approaching 20 games in a row. It is almost impossible to play 20 consecutive NFL games and still be "fully functional".

That is true, but I referenced that running backs, offensive guard, and offensive tackle has backups that by design, can replace for short periods by a starter at those positions are not active. And that is without much short termed functional reductions. That is where team strength is pretty strong.
