Suh wins appeal

I guess I'm one of the few who thinks this is probably the right move. Suh is - without a doubt - a dirty, dirty player, the dirtiest in the NFL by far. But the NFL specifically stated he should only be judged on this incident, not his past. While he clearly did it on purpose, I don't think it was enough to warrant a suspension for a playoff game. I also think it had nothing to do with the fact they are playing the Cowboys that it was overturned. In fact, I think it's in the NFL's best interest that he be suspended, and put the ratings darling Cowboys in better position to advance and play a prime time game next week. I'd rather see him vs. ZacK Martin than standing on the sidelines anyway. Dude needs a good b****-slapping.

Mara owns the Giants, Goodell is his puppet.

This was the plan, suspend him and say in the papers that it was an isolated event and not taking into account his past, that way when it goes to appeal the punishment for this one event does not warrant a suspension.

The theory is that Mara has pulled strings to screw divisional rivals before. The most notable instance was the cap penalty applied to the Cowboys and the Commanders after they signed people in the uncapped year that wasn't illegal but that apparently might have broken a collusive gentleman's agreement.

NFL Channel just said the 2014 rules say a player's slate is wiped clean if they go 32 games without another infraction. This was Suh's 33rd game, believe it or not, so it was treated as a first-time infraction.

Attempting to injure someone, 2 year time limit. Smoking some reefer, infinite time limit. Yup seems about right.

When has the Cowboys ever been treated like a ratings darling?

I really don't care if this guy plays or not. Big Leary, The Beard and The Rook will smash his dirty *** to a pulp. What aggravates the crap out of me is this is a HUGE NFL FAIL. What a bunch of J.A.C.K.W.A.G.O.N.S.

The game is dangerous enough without people (loosely used noun) like this guy. It will become more apparent as a huge fail the next time this P.O.S. does it again. Oh and NO, NO, NO, NO to the question of whether I want this UFA turd anywhere near this team.

I hope Beasley ***** slaps that 2nd rate gorilla!

I'd pay good money to see that!

Like coach Garrett said, they're not going to get caught up in what is going on with the other team, the Cowboys are going to focus on themselves,,, though I'm sure the Suh thing might change their blocking schemes slightly.

what little cred the NFL had is now long gone

This. Honestly don't care if he plays or not. They just told the rest of the players that $$ is more important than safety and you can get around the rules if your a good enough player.
How hypocritical can they be? I'm glad we found out earlier than game time. We're going to kick their butts.

Boy the reaction on ESPN is crazy. People are really fired up about how clueless the NFL is on this decision. It's almost 100% across the spectrum of fans.

They wouldn't have fined him 70K if they thought it was unintentional.

Considering that players make $22k for the Wild Card round of the playoffs, he's paying the league to play this week.

if he were playing the giants, patriots or any other east coast team this week, i promise you the result would have been different. can't even remember the last time I've heard about a win on an appeal.

Guaranteed, the refs have been put on notice. Plus, Garrett should put an extra bug in their ear.

Name a second instance.

Ndamukong Suh won his appeal; now allowed to play vs. Dallas

Doesn't surprise me one bit. He played it off, despite it being pretty obvious. Without him looking down, pointing, and laughing at Rodgers afterwards, I had a feeling the league was going to back down from this. Actually, I think that was the plan all along. Suspending a star in a playoff game just isn't the way they like to roll.

I could have bought a fine over the supension, but a suspension that made people take notice. Someone had mentioned M. Lynch got fined 100k for not talking to media and Suh gets 70k for this nonsense?
