I think we should go back to bashing the defensive coordinator...that was a horrendous game plan...then bad play calling, then total lack of making any positive adjustments to slow them down...

Come'on David... The execution by the players, was absolutely horrid. Especially at linebacker.

what were they trying to execute though? we should have been in all out attack mode with them missing T-O and their starting C (who was probably their best OL anyway)

I just thought the team was very poorly prepared, and then the coaching staff made little or no adjustments as the game wore on

You can't blame the coordinator for missed tackles or dropped interceptions (Burnett). Nor for losing contain.

Exactly. The d-line plugged up the middle on several runs only to have the outside backers suck in allowing the running backs to bounce it outside.

At least the pass coverage was great. They didn't let the Eagles capitalize on their effective running game with play action. The defensive line needs to find some discipline. In all, they only gave up 20 points of which 7 were a gimme after Bledsoe's horrible decision and they scored the winning 7. Not a great outing, but they came through.

I thought the LB's looked clueless, letting eagles rb's repeatedly bounce outside for big gains.

That'll happen when the opposing line is blocking well and feeling it for the first time all year. The LB's weren't used to so many 300+ pounders flying at them.

...if you watch the replay of McNabb's pass Dat's assignment is the TE Lewis. He couldn't well leave his first assignment or he would have abandoned his zone and allowed Donovan to throw for the TD. It was a rock and a hard place and not his fault.

As for sucking the whole game let's be careful here about GLOBAL statements. There was alot of players who sucked big time on this new 3-4 defence. Ferguson, Glover, Canty, Spears and our media darling Ware. Quite frankly they just didn't get the job done.

I haven't responded much to your posts, but I think it would be more judicious to approach this team with a larger picture approach. From my view of the TV screeen there was an entire Dallas Cowboys team that just about threw this game away from the start of the second quarter.

If not for the fatal error by Brown and McNabb we wouldn't be having this conversation about Dat.

You could easily pin this one on Bledsoe and his errant flip pass and the two misses he had on Glenn. First in the second quarter when Glenn was open, but he tossed the floating "kite" that fell short and the one to start the fourth quarter where he missed Glenn who had gotten behind double coverage.

Great points.

Was it me or did Glenn slow down a couple of strides on that long pass that just missed? Maybe he thought he was covered and the ball wasn't coming, but he then sees the ball and speeds back up. Maybe it was the camera angle and the direction he was running and it only appeared that way. Very close play. He ran a great route on the TD.

Dline was getting blown up

Shanle/James played majority of game. James had a dozen tackles.

Good call by Dat -

Good win

I think Madden must have said Aaron Glenn about 7 times when referring to Terry Glenn, I felt bad for Nors.. I mean Madden.

Is it ok if I throw in a Bobby Carpenter pitch here? :)

Plug in Bobby Carpenter from here on til the draft. Though the position in question was more the inside than the outside... But I think I'd trade Carpenter for Fujita. If Dat would happen to retire in the offseason.. Schlegel in the middle would be a very good '06 draft pick IMO.. Of course I'm in dream land to try to have a shot of AJ Hawk falling to us next draft.

Morning Michael
Dat was awful, he whiffed on Westbrooks TD and then ran AWAY from Mcchunky on his TD in the most bazzaro play I have seen from a LBer....Everytime he was in filthy ran right at him....

Dat thought about retiring...He should, he is now officially awful...Save the one shovel play, where he still couldn't make the tackle...He might make a good coach though?

Were simply a MUCH better & tougher team without the tiny guy...

Shovel! Shovel! Way to go, Dat!

Oh no that was Shanle...

And it was Shanle that blocked McNabb...

And it was Shanle that got the int and ran it back for the TC...

And it was Shanle that caught the TD pass...

And it was Shanle that scored on the TD run...

And it was Shanle that knocked the ball out of Brown's hands...
