Adam Schefer reporting Murray intends to sign; no contract signed by Mathews

They would be trading for his rights. After they agreed on a new contract.

There's a lot of slip twixed the cup and the lip on that scenario. If AP is looking for 25mil he's trying to do
the TO robbery Jerry faded in the past. TO turned out to be worth the money, I'm not sure AP is anymore.

If Murray goes I would like to be able to say that the Jones didn't really want him anyway because they are targeting Peterson. However when you offer him 6 million a year then you are not ready to commit to going after Peterson. It would make me feel better if I felt that Dallas had a clear plan and direction all along. Instead anything we do just feels reactionary. Reactionary moves smell of emotions and mistakes.

Also we are not picking early enough in the draft to where we can say for sure that we will be able to land either Gurley or Gordon. We may end up on the wrong side of this thing.

1st off it seem Schefer is full of it other reports show Mathews has Signed a 3 year $11.5 million contract with Philadelphia (PHI)

No, Stephen Jones will go down as one of the most clueless executives in team history. And rightfully so.

Compared to Chip Kelly?

Bwahahahaha!

:lmao:

But hey, thanks for showing your true colors (Kelly green) and ending the charade.

He had nearly 1300 yards and 10 touchdowns in 14 games in 2013. On a team completely devoid of other weapons around him.

You may be right in that he could come back to the NFL not the same player, but I would understand why the Cowboys would take that risk with Peterson and not do the same with Murray.

He missed a season with a torn ACL and MCL and came back in less than a calendar year to rush for 2000 yards.

His time off only preserved his talent.

Understand this, folks.

Just like with politics and hurricanes and snowstorms, the northeast media thinks it's all about them.

They WANT this to happen. They think everybody wants to be there among them. They want to see Dallas get "shunned". They live through other's misery, although they don't understand how "whatever" we are about Murray down here.

Take today's reporting from up there with a grain of salt.

Listen, just because I don't want to pay him doesn't mean I don't respect or appreciate him...none of that really matters

I want this team to do what's in the best interest of this franchise...paying Murray, Imo, is a big mistake...that's why I am excited to see him go...I'm excited to see this team make a the correct, critical decision, of letting him walk

I stand corrected.

If he has not signed, it must be pretty awkward in that building right about know, because they have reported Mathews is in the building.

I don't blame DeMarco one bit for doing whatever to squeeze as much $$$ possible out of this process. However, once you start flirting with the Eagles(or Commanders/Giants), as a Cowboys fan I'm done with you. I wish him well, wherever he lands away from Dallas.

I actually find it funny that Murray clearly wants to stay in Dallas, but we just won't give him what he wants. He's like, "you...you..sure? please? just a little more money. please? i'll leave! i'll do it! i'm going to philly..................

............please? keep me?"

This is the way I go if the Vikings aren't asking for too much. Then add a back in the draft.

I think I may seriously pass out laughing if the next time we play Philly we've got Peterson and they've got Murray.

If we can work the money deal to an acceptable level with Peterson, I'll give them a 2016 4th rounder if they think it will help them 'save face'.

Either that or just wait for Peterson to just publicly tell everyone he doesn't want to play there.

Obviously telling them privately hasn't gotten it done.

You see that and I see all the injuries and fumbles. College records mean nothing, maybe we should sign Ron Dayne. Jim Brown had 6 1000 yard seasons by the time he was Murrays age too. Murray got caught in a great situation, he is not a special back. Good but not great.

Also, Randle averaged 6.7 yards per carry.

You went from "just anybody" to "good"... and you can take that Randle junk out of here... spot player, that's all he is... Murray is/was a Pro Bowl RB...
My point is that you basically called Murray and JAG, which is just stupid... but you're entitled to your opinion, wrong as it may be.

3/4 AP is better than any other back in the league.

I dunno, maybe because we're about to lose one of the very best players in the league to a division rival because the clueless son of Jerry thinks that offering insulting contracts to said players is the same as good negotiating tactics? Could that be it?

I don't find it insulting at all. I just posted the stats the Cowboys have. A majority of the teams aren't paying RBs. If they were there would be teams falling all over themselves. The guy has had 3 injured years and 1 outlier great year. He touched the ball over 400 times which, in history, has been followed by a huge drop off. Why pay top dollar when the market says not to?

The Eagles got rid of Cary Williams, to the applause of the entire city, this offseason and signed Byron Maxwell to a huge deal.

I will bet you Williams, now a Seahawk, will have a better season this year than Maxwell.

Forget taking it to the bank. It's already been deposited at the bank.
