Um, what? Murray is a north-south runner and a red zone nightmare for opposing defenses. McCoy is a shifty, delicate runner who couldn't break a tackle if his life depended on it. If you don't see why Kelly prefers a runner like Murray over McCoy, there really isn't much hope for you. You just don't get it.

Um, and he's also like the third choice after Frank Gore said "thanks, but no thanks" and they next went to Ryan Matthews.

I don't agree, because I don't think the two players are comparable. You can take that risk with Peterson because he's a special talent.

If I'm paying big money to any older RB it's going to be the guy who is elite. DeMarco Murray is not elite.

Agree. I'm pretty sure before Murray flew to Philly, he knew what their offer was. It's a done deal, all that's left is putting ink to paper.

Better taken gets better money. They're about the same age. One has a consistent history with injuries the other is one of the all time greats.

AP is three years older than Murray. I know he's been the better back over his career but he'll be 30 in a few weeks. AP also had a major knee injury a few years ago and then was suspended most of last season.

At the right money I'd take AP for a couple of years. But if we let DM walk only to sign a RB three years older to more money then it makes no sense.

As I said weeks ago, AP is a special player. He's an all-timer. He is not human. He is one a different level than any RB in the NFL. The closest to him, talent-wise, is Bell in Pittsburgh. But he's not that close. Peterson is a different animal altogether. Pay him the $8MM he wants.

I'm aware of that. They do still make trades in the NFL. If Dallas does make a few moves on FA to sure up the D, I'm not against trading for AP as log as it's not a 1st Rounder.

Dallas is not trading for AP. They would also be trading for his current contract! No way

As I said yesterday - shady is way better than him...they are downgrading big time...nothing to be scared of

it's not about being scared.... its about "taking him off our hands"... salary too much, i get it.. but he's been productive and gave us a big season...
