I wish him good luck. There is a limit to what you can pay. We need two linebackers badly as well as a stud pass rusher. Some of those have to come via free agency. We can get a second tier veteran running back to tide us over and draft someone in the first two rounds and move on. I love DM, but reality is reality and the reality is you can't keep everyone.

AP is three years older than Murray. I know he's been the better back over his career but he'll be 30 in a few weeks. AP also had a major knee injury a few years ago and then was suspended most of last season.

At the right money I'd take AP for a couple of years. But if we let DM walk only to sign a RB three years older to more money then it makes no sense.

Sure it does. Murray's a good running back made great by the best offensive line in the league. Peterson is already great.

What's it going to be then, eh?

Again, I'm not expecting a a lot. I'm just excited to get this over with and to see what moves they make. I don't like being held hostage. There has to be a plan B for when you lose your guy. Why are people so testy?

I am always testy during free agency. Same thing happens around the draft. Too anxious.

No, Stephen Jones will go down as one of the most clueless executives in team history. And rightfully so.

Since you hate the owners of the Cowboys so much, why not mosey over to the Raiders, Jags, Panthers, Commanders board. I hear
they are all looking for more posters over there. You can fit right in, buddy!

Philadelphia's OLine was very good last year. They let Herremans walk this year and i dont understand that one so wait and see. But they had one of the top OLines last year in my oppinion.

Herremans was the weakest link on that OL.

it's not about being scared.... its about "taking him off our hands"... salary too much, i get it.. but he's been productive and gave us a big season...
again, to each his own... i just wasn't sure if you really meant it that way...
I appreciate what he did, but its business... i respect him as a football player though.....

Listen, just because I don't want to pay him doesn't mean I don't respect or appreciate him...none of that really matters

I want this team to do what's in the best interest of this franchise...paying Murray, Imo, is a big mistake...that's why I am excited to see him go...I'm excited to see this team make a the correct, critical decision, of letting him walk

I understand if Mathews would be upset if he hasn't signed his contract. Hopefully this blows up in the Eagles face and they both leave. If I am FA I would very leery of going to the Eagles if they offer me a contract and pull it for someone else's. Not good business practice or ethics.

I think Peterson was a special talent in 2012. Not anymore.

He had nearly 1300 yards and 10 touchdowns in 14 games in 2013. On a team completely devoid of other weapons around him.

You may be right in that he could come back to the NFL not the same player, but I would understand why the Cowboys would take that risk with Peterson and not do the same with Murray.

Damn...

There is no spinning this. If this happens it would be a coup for the Eagles and a serious blow to this team. I'm tempted to say good riddance because of the team he's joining...I think it smacks of sticking it to the Cowboys...but it still bums me out.

If true I hope he flames out.

They would be trading for his rights. After they agreed on a new contract.

This is the way I go if the Vikings aren't asking for too much. Then add a back in the draft.

I think I may seriously pass out laughing if the next time we play Philly we've got Peterson and they've got Murray.

I dunno, maybe because we're about to lose one of the very best players in the league to a division rival because the clueless son of Jerry thinks that offering insulting contracts to said players is the same as good negotiating tactics? Could that be it?
