I dunno, maybe because we're about to lose one of the very best players in the league to a division rival because the clueless son of Jerry thinks that offering insulting contracts to said players is the same as good negotiating tactics? Could that be it?

Lmao what? He never stays healhty and fumbles more than another other RB by a mile. Not ot mention we have 3 First team all pro lineman and I could be the RB and run for 1k yards.

There's a lot of slip twixed the cup and the lip on that scenario. If AP is looking for 25mil he's trying to do
the TO robbery Jerry faded in the past. TO turned out to be worth the money, I'm not sure AP is anymore.

I'm not paying that. And I don't believe that the report is accurate. I can see him wanting $25 million over 3 years, and that I would pay. But it would be two years at $12 million with funny money stashed in a year 3 that nobody will ever see (like Doug Free's deals).

There are a half dozen RBs better than Murray. He's good, not special enough to break the bank over.

I'm in the camp of wanting Murray but not wanting him at the cost of hurting us longer term.

But you can be sure that if we lose him, Romo and Garrett are going to be very disappointed.
They're professionals and will get over it, but they had his back big time.

I think because of them, Murray may give the Cowboys a chance to match....maybe.

Peterson is the exception to EVERY rule. He's like nobody who ever played this game. Big, fast, tough, elusive, durable, and just as competitive as Dez Bryant.

Exactly. You can't compare anyone to him.

I'm only posting this because my co-worker says he's familiar with DeMarco Murray's agent through sources etc.. For whatever it's worth... he's signing with the Eagles now 10:30 am est 5/42mil 18 guaranteed. He was reading from a text. Seems legit.

dunno. when so far the only *real* threat to take murray *IS* the division rival, where are all the other teams lining up for murray?

the colts needs help at RB more than anyone to make a run. they never even sniffed his way.
jax? heard they were, never saw it.
outside that, for someone who's the best player in the league, he sure got a pretty low overall turnout for his services considering he had to call philly to even start down that path.

i'm not trying to lowball murray or take away from his services, but this just seems like you crapped out something painful and are in the mood to take it out on your favorite whipping boy, regardless of the excuse.

could that be it?

Sure it does. Murray's a good running back made great by the best offensive line in the league. Peterson is already great.

And three years older with the best years of his career behind him. It'd be a big gamble to give a 30 yr old RB a huge 3-4 year contract.

I appreciate your view but I'm not breaking the bank for any RB in this league again.
For me, it's a big "home town discount" or bust.

i think most pro / anti AD arguments have been said. if anyone was going to change their mind, they would have by now.

Same gamble as giving a back who just had close to 500 touches in my opinion

If we can work the money deal to an acceptable level with Peterson, I'll give them a 2016 4th rounder if they think it will help them 'save face'.

Either that or just wait for Peterson to just publicly tell everyone he doesn't want to play there.

Obviously telling them privately hasn't gotten it done.

Keep in mind the Cowboys will have extra mid round picks in the 2016 draft for losing all these free agents.

I may be wrong, but I don't believe a Peterson trade would factor into our comp picks because he's not an UDFA and we will have given up compensation in the form of a draft pick already.

Yeah, let's wait and see the "bank breaking" deal Kelly gives him. You make it sound like he wanted Calvin Johnson money. $5 million per is just insulting. Not nearly as insulting as the stupidity I'm seeing on this board this morning, but hey.

I know we're all upset and he's more than likely signing with our most-hated rival, but let's not underrate how much he meant to this team last year.

ROMO and that line !!!!! goodbye wont be remembered in 5-10 years just another guy

Understand this, folks.

Just like with politics and hurricanes and snowstorms, the northeast media thinks it's all about them.

They WANT this to happen. They think everybody wants to be there among them. They want to see Dallas get "shunned". They live through other's misery, although they don't understand how "whatever" we are about Murray down here.

Take today's reporting from up there with a grain of salt.

Excellent summary. A lot of " who's first, apple polishing " going on regardless of what Murrays decision is
