I asked that last night, how many would leave their current job for 20% more money and only one person was honest. Go figure.

I would.

I also don't fault Murray for leaving. Good for him - he got his payday. I thank him for his very good play as a Cowboy, and wish him nothing but failure from here on out.

dude be mature. he didn't get a respectable offer from the cowboys. demarco didn't choose to not be here, the cowboys chose to move on.

Zordon dude are you a Cowboys fan or a Murray fan??? It has been reported multiple times the Cowboys were going as high as 6 million a year offering Murray. So miss me with that "he didn't get a respectable offer". He chose more money over winning with his brothers. ***.

Murray could have one or two more good years. Crazy how many think he falls off a cliff next year. He had 1800 yards and has plenty of room for dropoff. I'd been happy with a 1500 yard season from Murray next year. Now that he's in Philly, I don't think he'll put up the great numbers he had this year. I know we're all pissed that he went to Philly, but lets not act like he'll fail to gain less than 1000 yards next year.

I don't think Murray is done either, but regardless of what he does or doesn't do in Philly I don't think with out OL we need to spend 8 mill a year or a RB to have a strong running game

Ok so he said that it was not a financial decision and that he came to Philly to win a Superbowl........***. Even the philly reporters were like "wait so you are saying the Eagles have a better chance of winning a superbowl than the cowboys?" They had to ask him twice because they couldn't believe him. I mean I love Demarco and wish him the best but saying it was not a financial decision is a ridiculous lie.

exactly. he's going to a team with a worse qb, a worse o-line and worse receivers.

Does anyone know that the Cowboys offer was even for 4 years? If it was 3 and 18 mil with 12 guaranteed that is a big difference.

I've said this before, might as well say it again.

The Eagles will never win a Super Bowl. Their front office knows it, their fans know it, their players have known it, and Demarco knows it as well.

Murray hit his peak performance wise and winning wise last year. He hit his peak financially today. It's all down hill from here..............and everybody knows it.

Murray was a good RB for Dallas - loads better than the other guys between him and Emmitt Smith. I don't get all the hate for this man.

So he took a job for more money elsewhere... whom among all the haters here never done THIS before?

It's ridiculous.

I'm curious how he is going to react when his new teammates start talking crap about his "brothers". I bet all that brotherly love goes out the window and he becomes just another iggle. #tookthemoneyandran

Did you have to pick a team I hate so much? I thought we could still be friends, but I have no choice but to boo and hiss now.

Per nick Eatman's article... The Cowboys indeed made an offer to Murray in the neighborhood of $6 million per season.

So at $5 million four years is 20
At $6 million four years is 24

High or low of neighborhood of 7 to 11 more is more than a few.

http://www.dallascowboys.com/news/2...s-eagles-five-years-42-million-sixth-fa-leave

You get the point, right? They value the guy who carried the load significantly less than another team. Pinheaded move.

But there will be many rejoicing. And if and when this comes back to bite the team on the butt, they will come up with some other sleight-of-hand deflection to push this off on Murray.

Yet, after the season ended, and he signed the waver indicating he did not need any surgery as all the healthy players do, he didn't clean out his locker. He hung around, going to games with teammates and the head coach. He left every impression he wanted to be here. Only after well over a month did he get the picture this team did not hold him in the same esteem he held them.

So some of this is on Murray. An old school sort of guy who wanted to be here and allowed his heart to guide him, until the team - in their arrogance - low balled him, and held him in disrespect. The same type of arrogance displayed by the fans of this team on this board daily, as they rock in their barco-loungers, making football sounding thoughts with little real knowledge of the inner workings of this game.

If he had been the horse's arse that most of these millionaires are, he would have cleaned out his locker and rejected the team, forcing them to believe he would not stay.

That is not my idea, of course. That is what Nate said yesterday evening. I take it his thoughts have some semblance of legitimacy since he played this game at the highest level.

This is a Jones move playing GM. He overspends for Carr and a whole host of other players, then when he has a real jewel in his hands he plays it tough.

Can Dallas replace Murray's yards? Maybe.

Can they replace his ability to block the one off blitzer? Maybe.

Can they replace his love for the team, loyalty, and leadership? Highly doubtful.

The window is now in the Dallas Cowboy's House of Glass. And Jerry Jones is practicing with his new slingshot. This was a monumentally stupid move.
