I was watching the replay of our two games against the Giants in 2011 and I watched Scandrick get toasted all game long on key 3rd downs time after time and it brought back my memories of how much I hated him that season and used to scream at the TV for him to get cut. Last year he was our best corner by far. It just amazes me how the heck did he improve so drastically in just 3 years? Things like that give me hope for Claiborne.

I used get frustrated with Oscan also..... Claiborne is just... slow & weak.... its gonna take a lot of work to come back from that.....

Every young CB takes time to adjust, but I remember Scandrick always exceeding expectations. He was drafted the same year we drafted Jenkins and many people thought he outplayed Jenkins their rookie year. Then he became very good in the nickel guarding slot receivers, but people were mad because he still had trouble against teams' number one receivers. Then we gave him a medium sized long term deal and everyone complained. It turned out being one of the best contracts on the roster and people still complain. And now he's elevated his game enough to guard top receivers and still be elite against slot receivers. He's one of the stars on our defense and the only star in our secondary.

well said... I'm still not taking back all the curse words I yelled at him several years back...:D

Problem is, if Claiborne miraculously has a breakout season, he'll demand too much money next year on draft status alone.

Scandrick has supreme confidence in himself. He's got a major chip on his shoulder and is mentally strong. Claiborne is said to have a weak mental makeup and loses confidence easily. I think thats a huge factor in his lack of development. That and injuries also.

Well said. Sort of like Sherman. And people complain about Sherman having a chip on his shoulder. I'd rather have a good CB with a chip on his shoulder than a bust with a weak mental makeup.

This. He has 1 season remaining to get any value from the pick and he is returning from a severe injury.

I think the difference between Mo and Scandrick is that Scandrick has the drive to better himself, I don't see that from No. Just my opinion

Great point, remember he lost his starting job and threw a fit. Real competitors should get driven and try too prove coaches wrong not act like a baby. I was so elated when we picked him, now I don't even care if he's on the field next year.

Rob Ryan...............dudes a farce living off a name.

Someone should tell him he didn't invent football.

How one twin is a defensive guru and the other is Rob Ryan baffles me.

That's the tricky thing to measure as fans, we do not get to see the effort these players put in day in and day out.

Everybody was screaming scandrick sucks including me. It's only recently since he's been performing well that the tune has been changing on him.

To me..

its all about injuries.

Scandrick, Carr, Claiborne..

all of them have endured injuries and it drastically affects their ability to cover, tackle and pursue.

Terrence Newman was the poster boy for injuries and lowball performance.

So it's been hard to get a set of CBs and safeties healthy for 16 games.

SO stay healthy and you improve.

Stay on the stationary bike and hottub..

and we draft some more at the position.
