It's not what she said or how she said it as much as the lady behind the counter told her it was being video taped, the girl looks up and sees the camera and STILL does all of that.

I guess she could have said even worse stuff if she did not know it was being taped but even you give her the benefit of the doubt for having a bad day...she was stupid to do it knowing it was taped, and if she is as famous as she thinks she is...she should know that in todays age...that tape was going to get out.

I think she's sorry she got caught but she came across as a vile spoiled brat.

I'd fire her. If she's half as great as she thinks she is she'll get a job elsewhere.

The woman warned her nicely.

She

Just

Kept

Going... On an on.

One week? That's it?

Fired and a personal and public apology.

She Came off like an uppity, high sense of entitlement Scarsdale, NY / Connecticut twit!

Funny, but in her case the car was in a restaurant parking lot and not in a no parking area. The tow truck company claims the car was there two hours past closing, but they also have a reported shady reputation.

Well that is interesting.

Her response, if in fact you are right, then the company and lady (if part of the scam) deserved every bit if that!!

Yeah, and that video she definitely said some really mean and dumb things but it is also heavily edited so it makes me wonder what the other woman was saying to her that might have wound her up. I know I've had my moments saying dumb stuff.

Disagree.

If it's a shady act (and that's a big IF because no one has shown proof otherwise), then take it out on the company and not the person trying to carve out a meager living. The person behind the counter isn't responsible for the company's business model.

This was made personal and there's no excuse for that.

Well... I said... If they are all in the scam together then civility is out the door.

You tow my car from a legit parking spot. You will not get any mercy from me.

If she's the president of the company then that's one thing. If not, then gripe without being insulting.

And again, no one has proven that it was a "scam".

Now don't take this wrong as I find what the woman said to be pretty stupid.

But fire her? I don't think so.

I don't believe ESPN has any right to fire her, or suspend her to be quite honest, for something she said to people in her personal time.

Was she on the clock for ESPN doing a story? Maybe I missed something here but it would appear to me she was getting her own personal vehicle out of there, on her own time, which means ESPN does not, nor should they, have anything to say or feel about what she says to someone.

I agree, but if she wasn't an attractive female and was some old white dude with no political stroke, I wouldn't doubt that guy would get fired. And if not ESPN, other places have fired people for stuff that was said in their own free time. Hell, as much as I disagree with and dislike John Rocker, the stuff he said when he was pitching was while he was in his own car, in traffic.

Two wrongs don't make a right, so firing her to stay in line with other nonsensical firings only compounds the problem. But, ignoring those past hypocrisies doesn't help the matter any either.

The reason why ESPN technically has the right to suspend or fire her is that she is an employee of ESPN and she is a representative of the compoany. So when a viral video of you is made acting like an arse, it presents ESPN the company in a certain light as well. That's just the way it goes.

I did get a kick out of her saying 'I'm in the news.'

ESPN = 'the news?'

Really.

I kinda wonder about one thing. How well known is she in the D.C. area, do people recognize her in public? It could be that no one would have ever heard about the incident until she played the "Do you know who I am card". When a so-called celebrity feels that they have to ask that question, it usually doesn't end well.

Did the towing company make this video public? If so that is just as reprehensible, if not more so, than than the actions of this women. Clearly edited to contain only the "good" parts. Scumbag move.

I've also been a victim of predatory towing. If someone makes it a practice to take complete advantage of others to make a buck that someone deserves whatever words get thrown at them. They are just words. I'd have to assume the counter women has heard it all before. Only difference in this case is the "customer" is famous so lets edit the video footage and get our fifteen minutes.

Impossible to get a clear picture of exactly how this all went down.

Lol... not necessarily at you... But, reprehensible? That the company released an edited version... Ala espn and most if not all news outlets. There is irony there, no?

Tables turned...

Now, on the second part I agree and have said as much.

This is a predatory towing company, but it doesn't excuse her behavior.

Yeah, it appears that company has a really bad track record.

I think this is another case of this PC society we live in today. I couldn't care less about it and I think it's laughable that anyone thinks she should lose her job for it. She was angry and said some things she shouldn't have said. That makes her human.

Exactly right. That's a doctored video from an apparently corrupt towing company. Do some digging and read some of the reviews they've gotten. It's alarming.

It would be nice to see the other side of the glass.
If the person there said or did anything.

There is. There is another article that I read that witnesses said that the girl behind the glass was extremely crude and rude to her. The witnesses said that the women was provoking her and that the video type is edited. The article also said that this towing co. has received an F rating from the better business bureau and that it was going to tow a car that a father had parked at a CVS store that had kids in it. The tow truck driver said he never saw the kids. Apparently, there has been over 40 complaints in the last 3 years about this company. The article went on to state that the company was trying to sell the video to ESPN to obtain money and when they refused, they put it viral hoping someone else would give them money. Still, she should not have done what she did and I have a problem with people who think they are entitled to things because of who they are. As my father would tell me, the only thing that you are entitle to is my foot up your a!! if you act like that.
