Why does Jerry Jones just keep sitting back taking it from Goodell and Mara?

10 games. though? After missing 15 last year. It's a bit of overkill even in this current climate of zero tolerance for DV.

And considering the guy was already exaunerated for his alleged crimes from an actual judge and jury the nfl is becoming the long arm of the law now?...and to the notion that the nfl will lose out in sales and money for playing hardy i doubt that seriously.. but whatever i think jerry and co are playing it just rite let the NFLPA do all the dirty work and keep your hands clean

Yep. enough is enough. NFL players better look out. now you have no say so when it comes to your wife and girlfriend. they have all the leverage. you pissed them off and they can have you out of the NFL by just saying you did something to them. so you better do what the hell your woman tell you to do. this PC bs has gotten out of hand. 27 games. are you kidding me?

Almost as if it would be better to just not have any kind of life...i mean there is such thing as right place wrong time

The Saints didn't take this crap, and we don't have to stand idle by for it.

Goodell is a freaking slob and his friend Mara is a P.O.S.. These cases can be won in a court of Law.

This is unfathomable and the NFL should be taken to court just like Vilma won, Dallas would fair well. Open and shut, sue the NFL=Win MILIONS$$$$.

There's no need for Jerry to throw a fit for justice to be implemented. Judge Doty will more than likely ensure that the legal system is afforded its due respect -- something that Goodell has chosen to ignore. Recently, Doty has already let it be known that Goodell's actions are contrary to what constitutes just treatment. Eventually, a far more reasonable decision will be forthcoming regarding Hardy's penalty. Patience will be required in the meantime..

Look at all the scumbags on the 49ers, and they barely ever get a slap on the wrist.

Yeah that was swept under the NFL rug like a pile of dust but it smelled like a pile of something else. Walks like a duck, talks like a duck....must be a pet cat.

I have ask forum members this before. take a look at this BS the last few years.
10 million dollar cap hit for nothing. there was no cap that year. and Mara said Jerry was lucky he did not lose draft picks.
And now the Greg Hardy 10 games suspension today. 10 games! are you kidding me? Goodell's bias for the New York teams is clear. you think Hardy would have got 10 games if the Giants had got him ?
And the Dez catch overturn, which has been defended by the NFL to this day.
I think it's clear cowboys fans. Roger Goodell is anti-cowboys. and my question is WHY DOES JERRY KEEP TAKING THIS BS FROM GOODELL AND MARA. just look at his statement after the BS Goodell and Mara pulled today.
Jerry's Statement
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This suspension is something that we anticipated prior to Greg’s signing, and we respect the Commissioner’s ruling,” the statement reads. “Our organization understands the very serious nature of this matter. We will use our resources — work closely with Greg and with the league — to ensure a positive outcome..
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I did not expect him to come out and blast Goodell. but it would have been better to say no comment. and make it clear that he did not agree with this decision. the idea that Jerry said he respects this BS decision does not sit right with me.Goodell went to far yet again. just like he did with the 10 Million dollar cap hit. and as long as Jerry won't throw a fit about these things. the screw jobs will keep coming. some where in NY city Goodell and Mara are smiling. they just love sticking it to the cowboys.

Never attribute to malice that which can be explained by incompetence.

Goodell isn't out to get the Cowboys. He's just very bad at his job.

Not since the 90's. Not that I don't like it, or had that "OMG, it's not real?!" epiphany, I just one day decided to severely cut down on the TV consumption and haven't found the wherewithal to go back yet.

My media consumption has to be pretty boring to most: old movies (silents to 80's, many of them low budget uglies of all genres- but I love those...), lots and lots of MST3K and Rifftrax and every once in a while we throw in a Game of Thrones (currently in the middle of Season 3) and we are just getting into X-Files. We just watched the finale of Season 1 of that one last night after the Spurs game.

I still recognize a few of the guys there when I run into advertising or whatever: Undertaker, Rey Mysterio, Sting... , but I have no connection to today's Pro Wrestling.
Maybe I should, how is the industry doing nowadays? If I may so high-jack this already boring thread...

you're not missing much at all brother. i catch it from time to time, mainly for the big events and they still seem to rely heavily on th old stars from the 90s/early 00s.

Jerry wants to host another Super Bowl. Therefore he has to play nice.
Not the way the current selection format is set. If in NFL stadium - you have to play a home game in London.
Not on the adgenda for the Cowboys.
Also the Goddell and Mara hits are but pin pricks.
Jerry is laughing all the way to the bank as he out earns every other team in the NFL.

He lost no pay last year only playing time and any bonus $$$.
This year, the way the contract he signed is structured, he will lose some $$$$.
Well more than you and I earn in a year :( Each week not playing.

They would have a chance to win if they would put up a fight. instead of all this we respect what Goodell did BS we keep hearing from Jerry and his son. they keep getting run over and they keep taking it. not good for cowboys players and fans.

As it stands, the suspension is being appealed. Why would you say anything negative at this point to infuriate the Commish or the Judge who will make a decision on this?

Goodell is a mouth-piece for the general consensus of the owners. You can bet, the owners have their own alliances and they probably come to some sort of consensus.

I'm sure Jerry wants to make the NFL look tough on domestic abuse and then will let the Doty ruling over-rule the suspension so they all win.

Domestic violence is a hot button issue now, especially in the NFL. Jones and the Cowboys should say NOTHING and let the NFLPA do their job and take some of the heat from the media, public, etc.

If Dallas speaks out about how Hardy is getting railroaded by the NFL, all people will see is "Dallas supports domestic violence". The public doesn't give a crap about facts, etc. So Dallas is beyond wise to just shut up and not saying anything.

Poor ole millionaire players. They have it hard don't they.

And, for the most part, this idea that girlfriends and wives are out to sabotage an NFL player's career is the exception - rare exception - rather than the rule. You treat a woman right, and you have a companion - not to mention a friend - for life. For the most part, it's the men who screw around with women, their bodies and their emotions who incur the wrath of women.

But most wives are not going to try to sabotage their husband's careers, particularly NFL players, in this case. If anything, they take more abuse than necessary because they value the relationship more than men. How many athletes have cheated on their wives only for the wives to forgive them?

You're trying to argue the exception rather than the rule, and society isn't buying it.

it just amazes me how many gomers on this site do not get it that goodell is only a mouthpiece and nothing else. he does not wipe his rear end without calls to at least 6 owners.

Have you been to a hotel the night players are in town for a game?

No. But I've heard the stories. And they don't involve girlfriends or wives but groupies. I don't put groupies on the level of girlfriends and wives.

And let me clarify, when I say "girlfriends" I'm talking about a young lady you're in a serious relationship with, not just a sleeping buddy.
