Right, as long as we have a good offensive line it doesn't matter who is running the ball.

ask Mcfadden, did he have a good offensive line in Oakland???

Mcfadden 1st round pick
Williams 2nd round pick
Randle 5th round pick

how many more do you need to run behind this offensive line....a back with a walker could gain 4 ypc..

Murray was a 3rd round pick by the way!

There's a good chance that this will be addressed tonight. Whether Jerry views RB as an urgent need or not, a player at that position will almost certainly be among the best values at 60, given the depth at the position and the recent league-wide trend towards waiting to draft a back.

What's the difference between startingin decent shape. Aside fromRyan Williams or, say, Tevin Coleman.

Williams was a 2nd round pick who has been slowed by injuries more than anything. Any guy we draft will be a bigger question mark than he is, and Williams has as much talent as a pure runner as any guy we'll get moving forward.

Good point, I do believe Mcfadden, randall, williams, and dunbar can be a productive group. However, RB should still be a strong consideration in the 2nd and 3rd just based on mcfaddens and williams injury history. If its just Randall and Dunbar active that doesnt exactly give me confidence. Ideally we go defense in round 2 dline or lb and then look at rb in round 3.

Murray was a 3rd round pick with first round talent. He only slipped because of injury concerns. Regardless he was good and delivered in the NFL and that is all that matters. All the guys you mentioned Mcfadden, Williams, and Randle are ALL backups.

third round pick which proves my point I've always said, running backs are a dime a dozen and there was plenty of yards Murray left on the field and I highly doubt when Mcfadden was taken 4th overall that they saw him as a backup......and Williams had a 1st round grade on the cowboys' board so I guess they saw him as a backup too huh??

I'm going to have to put you on ignore man. Anyone that thinks we should start our season with Mcfadden,Randle, and Williams, just won't have ANYTHING in common with me and it will just be a waste of time talking with you.

WOW, that sounds pretty childish, must be depressing to go through life associating with only like minded people...

Same here man. Same here..

I also agree that I will be really upset if we do not come away from this draft with a quality running back. having mcfaddon even mentioned as the starter is crazy and if jonesthink that he can be a starter at this point of his career then this team is lost this year.

It's kind of scary.. last year we thought the team would be lucky to get to 8-8 and due to the offensive line upgrades and run game by Murray we were a good team getting to 12-4. Now, a lot of fans think we will be good this year and it doesn't matter who we have back there at RB. I hope they are right but I fear otherwise.

Darren McFadden is not in the plans for any sort of starting running back crowd. People thinking that are getting lost in the approach of "fantasy football names" as he's in here to be a clear backup. If it's not a rookie draft pick, it is Ryan Williams.

Ryan who? Never heard of him.... must be a BACKUP like the rest of them on the current roster.

This right here.......something has to be in the works, right?

Yes, it seems very strange to me. I'm sort of panicking about the running back position and the Cowboys seem like they are fine with what they currently have. I seriously wouldn't be surprised if they go defense again in the 2nd.

In the 2000's there have been 21 rookie running backs to rush for over 1,000 yards. More than half of those were not 1st round draft picks. There's no reason to panic given the current state of the Cowboys offensive line, the depth of this running back class, and the remaining draft capital Dallas has.

I think it's likely that we take another DB. I don't think it will be in the second round, I don't think the players we would like will fall to us at 60 but I do think we take another in this draft.

I think Jerry believes in the RB core we have now, I wouldn't hesitate to draft Jeremy Langford in a later round though.

I want Coleman, but I'd bet he goes early. I'm thinking they get Ajayi or Duke Johnson in the 3rd round tonight.

(Unless they trade one of those picks for Peterson.)

You think Duke will last till the end of the 3rd?
