Murray had a lot of Hambrick in him. Tons of yards left on the field. AP would have had 2400 yards here.

Prove this...oh, you can't. Hyperbole sounds so...what's the word...correct.

Y have several problems with this.

1. Your reliance on the offensive line and suggesting they will make heroes out of back-ups. So, are you suggesting Emmitt was a cut above average then?

2. Murray was not "normal." Murray ran for 5 yards a carry in a passing offense when we had crap for an offensive line. Don't rewrite history.

3. Murray was very elite with our line. Or they would have been brining in Larry, Curly, and Moe more often.

Bro Murray is not as great as you think. You and the eagles will find this out when the season starts.

Well, Garrett said today that there were running backs that they wanted but that they were already gone and the Cowboys were not going to "reach" and ruin their draft board. But, that does not count to the pseudo GM's on this forum!

But it sure placates the Hope and Change crowd.

Agreed. Murray was excellent. It became a fiscal matter, and we decided to bet on the O-Line if necessary to improve quality of the backs on the roster, and invest in defense.

That's not egregious mismanagement. That's making a tough choice, and mitigating damage caused by DeMarco's loss by asute selection of defensive personnel that will give the Cowboys speed, depth, youth, and superior "hit-stick."

If it works noone will miss Murray, if it doesn't it definitely leaves JJ,SJ, JG, RM, and SL open to harsh criticism. That's profesional sports.

History shows that you don't need an elite back to win a Super Bowl. I expect our running game to be effective enough for us to pass successfully. I think our defense looks a lot better than last year.

Overall, I think we are still a contender in the NFC.

Let's keep it real. The o line will carry any running back.

Randle, Dunbar, and DMC all very average-trash. But the o line will instantly make them very good..

We had an embarrassingly good year last year with the OL. Good health and I really think the decision to come out and run the ball a lot surprised opponents.

We established an identity and now the NFL will be ready to respond from the get-go.

So now, I don't think I agree with the idea our OL will just kill it and it doesn't matter what piece of trash is running the ball.

Your sig line makes what you post pleasant though.

I am sure there some statistical pieces of nonsense that suggested we passed worse last year, but I saw Romo being more efficient due to the threat of the running game.

Murray as the season developed created fear. Or at least attention.

I think as defenders see McFadden, Randle, Williams etc, they lose respect for the run. It will become even more prevalent if we go to a "committee" approach.

I am guilty, I refused to believe it last November.

We added McFadden to this mixture of delusional garbage and here we are.

The die was cast back then and I guess it was just never taken seriously.

The fact that people in this thread are blithely referring to our players as "trash" is sad. It's also not very revealing about the actual, competency of the group.

I went back to see where/when backs were drafted in comparison to where the Cowboys picked:

1-10 Gurley
1-15 Gordon
1-27 Cowboys pick
2-4 Yeldon
2-22 Abdullah
2-28 Cowboys pick
3-9 Coleman
3-13 Duke Johnson
3-22 Dave Johnson
3-27 Cowboys pick
3-31 M. Jones
4-7 Langford
4-26 Allen
4.27 Davis
4.28 Cowboys pick

You gonna take Yeldon instead of the corner at #1-27? No.

You gonna take Coleman or Duke Johnson or Dave Johnson over Gregory? No.

Yeah the Cowboys took the OT at #27, but are M. Jones, Langford, Allen or Davis are better than what's already on the roster? I question that one.

If the running game can continue to be as effective on a per play basis I don't see why it would matter if one guy or three share the carries.

Well, from what I have heard, they needed a swing tackle/guard to replace whoever that player was that went somewhere else for the money (forget his name). Besides, I will never regret investing on the oline or dline...it's been denied for years and years until the past few years.
