Should they have somebody in for a workout? Or just leave Clutts and the other 2 taking snaps?

Yes, we should bring in someone. Will we? No. Johnson and Lache will be getting more looks now. In a way that's a positive, but at the end of the day, these guys are longshots.

I'm not at all comfortable with the group of running backs we have. We took a step up on defense and a step back on our running game. Our QB has a bad back and we want to rely more on him? What could possibly go wrong?

Lache has no shot of making the team. Practice squad at best.

IMO, Gus Johnson has 1 foot in the door.

If he has a big Pre-season he makes the team.

I totally agree with you. Seastrunk can't handle the mental aspects of the position and I give him little chance of making this team.

I think opportunity is calling for Gus Johnson and I think if he 'runs with it', he has a very good shot at making this team. More than any of the other candidates, I think Johnson has the body and build to actually be a workhorse running back.

If the team insists on keeping McFadden, I can see them going long at the position and keeping four.

I'm always up for upgrades at all positions.

Randle was most likely not going to take many (if any) snaps this Thursday. Just as Murray wouldn't have played either (just like last year).
But that's a lot of snaps for Seastrunk and Johnson. I guess Clutts will run some too.
Anyway, the first preseason game is often for the backups. No Romo, Dez, or Randle.

Go get 'em Gus.

I predict he looks incredible next week when he gets out there.

Yah, this is getting ridiculous. And they are almost affraid to give Randle a lot of reps because they are too scared. This is red alert for me. When you are protecting a guy like Randle, that is almost an all time low. They need to go out and get somebody now. I would start talking with some of these veterans out there to bring in a body for cheap. They almost cant wait until cut downs at this point.

There was no way they were going to bring in RB's this week. They knew none of the 3 were going to play. That was the plan anyway. They had only 3 practices this week, off W, game TH. So why bring in a RB, to take limited reps and then have him play not knowing the offense as well.

No reason that Seastrunk and Johnson can't play the entire game. See what they are made of. As well as much needed actual game reps. Especially if they go long at RB, at least to start the season.

Who said [from the team, not an opinion from someone] they were afraid to give Randle reps. It was never the plan to have him, or any RB to have the carries like Murray did. But I doubt carries would be split evenly 2 or 3 ways. I don't think they planned to give Murray that many carries, but it worked out that way, as he had a fantastic year because of it.

I agree on the Johnson part, with a strong preseason he should make the team, looks like we will see a lot of him and Seastrunk Thursday.

They are not the only team with RB needs. It just appears they are simply burying their heads in the sand and hoping everything works itself out by the regular season. That good ol' hope as a strategy thing again.
