Since AT&T bought out DTV, wonder if they will try any bundle packages. I have AT&T U-Verse now, but even it has it's issues.
Anyone see any thing out there on this yet?

I saw an offer for cellphones and a discount on bundling both on the directv website.

Who else offers ST? Wouldn't that be leverage, if you don't offer a better deal I will go with ______

Nobody has Sunday Ticket but DirecTV. You can threaten with Red Zone only. Cable has that.

I just called last night. Got $20 off the monthly bill and Sunday Ticket Max for free. No contract. She even threw in 4 months of Showtime free. I've been with them since '96 or '97 and they continue to tell me that they value my loyalty. They backed that up with their actions so they get my business.

A win-win.

That's kinda what I'm waiting on. I have DirecTV and U-Verse internet. I don't really care for bundles and I prefer DTV. I don't even want Sunday Ticket, but I'd love to have the Red Zone. If I can get that as part of a regular package, then I'll be a happy camper.

I may be now, because I just upgraded to their Genie DVR, I think.

If you just got something and have a while left under contract, it might be tougher to gain anything else. But it's definitely worth the shot, especially if you're a long-time customer. And it costs nothing but time on the line.

Yeah, what number did you call? I now have hope. I'm a long time customer but ever since I got the contract I haven't been able to get much of anything out of those people.

Except for phone support where YOU do all the work and THEY consider that a 'service'.

Right..
when I had issues, not just with DTV, but any company for any service. Even calling the help(less) desk at work.
First thing I tell them...YES, I tried all the stuff you are reading out of your manual...unplug, plug back in, reboot,....they don't like it, but it saves time...as too many times if they can't resolve it, they transfer you to another person.
But DTV has some very poor customer service IMO.

Not sure what just happened, but very happy with the results.

I have a number of TVs in the house, but long and short of it, I got the ST Max for $12/month for four months, THEN got a $30 discount for the rest of the year on my regular service.

Cool.

One of these days the CEO of Direct TV will look at this site maybe and say hmmmm. Maybe we should not give this away so easily!

Haven"t seen anything posted here on this yet so thought I would comment. Made the annual phone call to Direct TV to plead poverty over the price of the football package. I got the full package for free again...so folks, call away.

Thanks for the reminder Fweegy. I called up today and before I even got to customer retention they lowered my bill by $40.50 for 6 months. After speaking with customer retention the gentleman I spoke to not only gave me a free year of NFL Sunday Ticket (with a one year contract) but he also lowered my bill an additional $30.00 for 6 months on top of what the previous young lady had already done.

Rough estimate my savings will be almost $700 over the next 6 months.

Thank you for taking the time to remind us about this. The best thing about the whole thing is I didn't even try to lie. I simply inquired about possible savings for being a loyal customer for so long and they punched me up and made me some offers. When I asked about NFL Sunday Ticket they told me they weren't authorized to make those adjustments but gladly sent me over to the department. I told the guy that my monthly bill had become too pricey (which it was) and he offered me the free Ticket and another $30 off for 6 months.

Thanks again! I'd buy you a beer if I could. :)

I called. They upped it another $40.

Ha ha! Reminds me of an old Rodney Dangerfield joke--

FINALLY!!! I was beginning to think you guys were lying but I just called back and got Sunday Ticket free for 2015 plus free HBO, Cinemax and Showtime for 3 months. FINALLY!!!

I spoke to a guy named Mike at customer retention. I hope it's easier next year. I made multiple phone calls to get this done.
