McFadden > Randle

lies... I hate when ppl do that. McFadden has produces a whole career (several years) of season shortened by injury. DeMarco is not in that same category....

Murray several years hurt in college.

Where are the lies? If he proved last year that he could play 16, McFadden just has to prove the same now.

Concerning was Randle in pass protection. That might win the job for McFadden.

Randle has missed a block in pass protection 2 weeks in a row. Posted a video clip of him missing a block his rookie year that could have gotten Romo killed. There has to be some concerns with him in pass protection.

You have to expect players like Murray and McFadden are going to get hurt. Murray even got hurt the last year, breaking his hand. When intending on giving players like that a significant role, you need a strong contingency which is why we scouted HB heavily in the 2013 draft showing interest in players like Bernard and Bell before draft Joseph in the 5th ( whom we had a 3rd round grade on).

My concern with Joseph right now as a contingency is that it doesnt look like he has taken steps in the underscored areas of playing the HB position in the NFL like pass pro. I believe he can be productive as a runner, but as we saw in 2010 it takes one bad whiff in pass pro on a blitzer and your QB and season are gone

McFadden will start. He and randle will both shine. Like I've been saying all offseason. It doesn't matter who the back is, they WILL have success on the ground in 2015.

IF I were making the decisions at this point, Dunbar would be the odd man out and I'd be all over the waiver wire looking for a decisive physical bruiser in the mold of a LeGarrette Blount or similiar. I'm an Arkansas guy, love Darren and was happy to see him look good yesterday, but I'm a Cowboy fan and realistic.

No doubt. Dunbar is the biggest JAG out there. Comb and replace.

It won't happen. Good luck hoping though. Keep hope alive!

If anyone here honestly believes McFadden will make it through a full regular/post season without missing significant time please speak loudly. I'm very interested in whether or not some of you have more "hope" than others or if you truly feel in your hearts McFadden is going to do anything close to what Demarco did last year behind this line that any JAG can run behind.

Murray has had several years with missed games. They both had their first full seasons last year. I respect you as a poster, but I think you're rapidly approaching that place where your desire to be right about this issue supercedes your fandom.

Understand that the team has confidence in the ability of the TEAM to be able to run the ball. They view the back as a piece of a successful rushing attack. The OL, TE, WR all play a role. They aren't the only team to buy that approach. Denver and Baltimore both had a lot of success with that approach last season. Denver did it with an elite QB and receivers. Bmore did it with an elite OL. Neither of those teams had backs with any pedigree and Dallas looks like they have more surrounding offensive talent than either when you add in the entire offense.

The other side of the ball is important too. When I knew Murray was gone was when Stephen started talking about a long term desire to more equitably distribute resources to both sides of the ball. They've started that process in full and the results should begin to bear fruit now.

Hey its all good. When game 1 hits, we will all cheer as we always do. However, I have zero confidence in our rbbc. There's absolutely nothing wrong with making that known and if anyone has issues with it then I guess they just have a desire to be "right". Bottom line, the defensive improvements are considered questions that won't be answered until we are well into the season. I worry about Romo and if I'm the only one then that's cool too. Blitz pickup is going to be a roller coaster ride this year.

You could have made the same post about DeMarco at the beginning of last season. See how that works..:D

I think our running game will be fine. I have no expectations that one back will do what Murray did last year. I don't think Murray could do what he did last year either. I expect that more short passing game to both Beasley and the running back will be used. I think Randle will gain over 1000 yards and McFadden around 800 to 1000 all purpose yards. I don't concern myself with injuries as they can't be predicted and past iNjury history has no relevance to this year. McFadden and Randle are no more likely to be injured than Murray would have been if he was still here. The blitz pick up with Randle is a concern from what I have seen. But it's not Murray didn't miss some as well. But all in all I think we will be just fine.

I think you start DMac..

he has 3 times the experience starting and should do better than Randle.

Bring Randle in off the bench like he has done before.

And I think Dunbar HAS to get at least 10 touches a game, too.

Spread the carries and let guys be fresh as games drag on.

The OL needs to see the different backs more to get timing going.

I'd rotate them every down until somebody gets it going then feed them the ball.

I second this. This has been my stance for some time now

It's funny to watch all the same posters saying the same garbage over and over in trying to prove that McFadden is as durable as Murray. The minute anyone questions McFaddens durability people start bashing Murray.

People want to bring up how many complete seasons McFadden has played vs Murray...yet they don't want to talk about the fact that McFadden has had 150 carries or less in 5 out of his 7 seasons. Think about that. Less than 150 carries...people say McFadden and Murray are equally in durability when Murray had as many carries last year as McFadden has over several years....sure McFadden wasn't injured last year...but without considering the fact that he barely played last year it doesn't mean much.

The biggest factor isn't even injury...its production. Murray has been effective every year in Dallas. McFadden hasn't been effective in 4 years now and was allowed to walk away for a contract that was as close to the Vet minimum as you can get...

Phili and Dallas are doing the same thing right now. Splitting caries to two solid backs. Randle and McFadden are night and day. I hope we get a better back in the draft next year.

Quite frankly, Philly concerns me more this year than ever. They're very well put together and our rbbc pales in comparison to theirs. (Sproles, Murray, Matthews)
