McFadden > Randle

I still see no reason to put him down as a player when he was obviously great for us last season (and really, the year before as well).

Replacing a back who rushed for 1,800-plus isn't supposed to be easy. I just hope we can do it adequately, and it was nice to see McFadden have some success when he was out there to give us some hope.

People like to put that one play by peppers on display as if it decided our fate. When I see that, I clearly understand I am dealing with a Demarco hater. It saves valuable minutes of my life coming to that quick realization.

I can understand that there are feelings on either side of it, but we need to all move on from Murray because he's no longer a part of this.

I want to concentrate on what the backs we have now can provide for us. I was please with what McFadden showed in taking advantage of some of the holes he was given. I still want to see him and/or Randle show the ability to squeeze something out of nothing ... because we're going to be handing them the ball on first down against a stacked box and they are going to have to show they can fall forward or bang through the first wave for us to be able to continue doing that.

(I still hope to see Dallas take better advantage of those stacked boxes than it did last year with some play-action passes ... but if we show we can't run against them, we won't be able to sell play action as well.)

Lol you're right.. You're dealing with a Demarco hater.

My hunch is that our play action effectiveness will be much lower this year. Hopefully lots of other things (primarily on D) become clear to help compensate for that dropoff.

Have you not seen how teams are selling out through the first 3 preseason games?

If they back off during the regular season I'd be shocked.

Just got home from the game and it's official, Joe Randle cannot pass block! :(

The reason they might have to back off some is that Dez will be back and it becomes harder to stack the box when most teams feel the need to double Dez more often then not. If they want to keep 8 in the box for the first two downs I hope we do more going over the top of the defense then we did last year.

Everyone wanted to crucify me last week when I made mention of that "issue". Glad you got to see it up close & personal. . .

It's an ugly baby.

LOL so just because you went to the game it gives you the right to make that claim? LOL[/quote]

Go to the game, or get the all 22. You'll see.

They both got what was blocked tonight. McFadden's carries were blocked a bit better. The line seemed somewhat pedestrian tonight, and part of me wonders if that's because they were able to cheat an extra man inside because of lack of Dez and the downgrade from Martin to Bernadeau.

Both.

I don't get Murray hate either.

I don't think so. I think it will be effective because they know Dallas can still do damage running the ball. Get a few big runs early in the season by either McFadden and Randle and teams will start putting and extra man in the box to play the run just like last year.

I don't buy Murray was injury prone. He had some bad luck, but it was never the same injury.

LOL...bad luck? You don't have to buy it.....but Murray was injured pretty much every year including college at OU except last year.....knees, hamstring etc etc.....

I know, I just can't understand a medical definition of injury prone. I mean Miles Austin's hammys were crononic--same injury again and again, but for some who breaks a foot and then hurts a pulls a growing--unrelated injuries--I just see it as bad luck

lies... I hate when ppl do that. McFadden has produces a whole career (several years) of season shortened by injury. DeMarco is not in that same category....

Even more lies... You can continue to be a Murray homer if you want to, but please don't try fooling anyone else in believing that Murray wasn't injury prone also. Randle was drafted to protect against Murrays injury concern. C'mon man.. everybody knows this and its well documented. Hasn't her already missed some time during the Eagles camp? Even the Eagles have a back-up plan with Mathews and Sproles splitting carries. Its not about just the games missed. Its also about feeling/being 100% healthy on game day. Murray seemed to always have something nagging him that had fans concerned. Not to mention, is he going to fumble this game? We get that your in love with an Eagle RB... move on and trust "your" team. All we can go by is the present... and so far, by all accounts, their have been positive reviews of both Randle and McFadden running the rock. I see some folks still don't "trust the process". You will celebrating a McFadden TD soon enough.

Don't forget the Dez factor. Let them sell out on the run and Romo will burn them every time.
