McFadden > Randle

Quite frankly, Philly concerns me more this year than ever. They're very well put together and our rbbc pales in comparison to theirs. (Sproles, Murray, Matthews)

Philly don't have Romo. Not to knock Bradford, but I think Phili should be worried about these sacks that are coming. I've respect for Phili, but they were offensively explosive last year too. Difference is, I really believe we will be even better defensively this year, which will help balance out some of that loss you're feeling from Murray. After all, we were ranked 5the in offense in 2013 when Murray barely broke 1,000 and we didnt have the complete line we have now. That's my 2 cents and hopes anyhow.

I would agree that 1 or 2 pre season games will not determine much however I will say there is a reason McFadden was a top 1sr rd pick and Randle a 5th. McFadden did show a lot better quickness than did Randle and McFadden is still better at blocking.

My concern is I am counting on McFadden staying healthy and showing he still has stuff left in the tank to be a lead horse. That is a big if.

I could be wrong, but I don't think Randle has the overall skill or talent to be a lead back. I think he is a very nice change of pace back (10 carries a game). I just don't know if he is a guy who will get you that 3rd and two consistently or a guy who you can trust in pass protection.

I actually like Dunbar but it is apparent the team views him as a specialty back. A guy who will get a few carries and maybe a few catches a game. If this and some special teams is his purpose with the team, it is sort of gambling when you other two running backs are either unproven or have been injury risk.

My concern is if McFadden goes down or cannot handle 20 carries a game, there is not really a lead option behind him. There are some veterans out there but they are a roll of the dice.

I don't see Dunbar as anything more than a specialty RB. He does not have the size or power to be the lead RB. I do agree with concerns over McFadden injury history but then Dunbar has missed a lot of games himself which does not say much when he has always been limited in terms of carries

I don't get the fascination with Dunbar either. It would be one thing if he was some established return guy, but to date, he's not been that either. And, for a team with question marks at the #1 and #2 positions already, can you really afford for your #3 back to be strictly a niche role player?

If Kenjon Barner doesn't make the Eagles finals cut I would drop Dunbar and pick that guy up.

Randle has missed a block in pass protection 2 weeks in a row. Posted a video clip of him missing a block his rookie year that could have gotten Romo killed. There has to be some concerns with him in pass protection.

Randle is a complete liability in pass protection.

It's funny to watch all the same posters saying the same garbage over and over in trying to prove that McFadden is as durable as Murray. The minute anyone questions McFaddens durability people start bashing Murray.

People want to bring up how many complete seasons McFadden has played vs Murray...yet they don't want to talk about the fact that McFadden has had 150 carries or less in 5 out of his 7 seasons. Think about that. Less than 150 carries...people say McFadden and Murray are equally in durability when Murray had as many carries last year as McFadden has over several years....sure McFadden wasn't injured last year...but without considering the fact that he barely played last year it doesn't mean much.

The biggest factor isn't even injury...its production. Murray has been effective every year in Dallas. McFadden hasn't been effective in 4 years now and was allowed to walk away for a contract that was as close to the Vet minimum as you can get...

They are both injury prone. That is a fact.

He hasn't looked good up to this point. He just seems to be satisfied with just knowing his blocking assignments at this point. Hopefully he becomes more physical i his blocking. If not, I'm afraid DCs will exploit this at every turn when he is in. And that's not good for Romo.

Dunbar is a JAG...

Fred Jackson was just cut by the Bills and he still has plenty of mileage left on those legs.

Cut Dunbar, replace with Fred Jackson, move forward......

^^^ That would significantly improve my confidence level in our vaunted rbbc.

Dallas apparently has no interest in Jackson.

They like McFadden/Randle/Dunbar.

Not sure why. I mean Jackson for Dunbar makes that a decent TB grouping IMO.

I second this. This has been my stance for some time now

I think so,too.

I don't know who really makes the decisions about what back goes in in what situation..

are the backs interchangable or are they scripted based on the play called?

Is this Linehan who does it or is it the RB coach or what?

The only reason I ask is that somehow a new rythum has to emerge if we are going to make running by committee work.

Who does that?

Certainly its not Garrett.

Randle is a complete liability in pass protection.

He's not a complete liability in pass protection or he wouldn't be in the mix but he clearly has some issues in pass protection. If he keeps missing blocks that lead to hits and sacks on Romo he won't being seeing the field anymore than he did last season.

Dunbar is a JAG rb. If the Cowboys were smart, they would immediately make a move to cut the perpetual project and replace him with Jackson. PERIOD :facepalm::popcorn:

Wow, what a bunch of idiots. They may just blow another shot at a title for their short sighted stupidity. Looks like Jones has learned a lot, but he still has to be right and is stubborn about it. What a fool.

I agree. Garrett has little control over the offense anymore or the personnel.

So he isnt a "complete" liability. What a great point you just made. LOL

Like I said, you could agree with someone on 95% of the argument, but you would choose instead to argue about the 5% you dont.

So looks like you were dead wrong about Romo eh?
