We should cut Weeden and Vaughn and go with Showers

As did about 25 other teams in the NFL. Few teams have capable backups.

As much as I don't think Weeden is a good QB, it would not be fair to the other guys on the team to do that. Like him or Hate him, out of the 3, Weeden gives us the best chance to win a game if Romo is out. Even if that % is 1% that is better than 0%. I just don't think you can do that to the other 50 guys that are playing their heart out there. I am all for keeping Showers on the 53, as I have liked what I have seen. However, not as the #2. I am all for upgrading the #2 though and we should be looking for that upgrade, even if it means trading for it.

Exactly so l would rather go with the young buck who game is already at the same level as Weeden. If he can get the real game experience it could help him a lot in development.

It should be oh god not Weeden. The guy is trash and has all ways been trash. I would rather let the young bucks get the reps. I never seen a team keep a back up qb that everyone know is trash. We are not winning 1 or 2 games with Weeden if needed. Let the 2 young bucks battle this last game and allow the winner back up Romo while the other sit on the PS.

no the difference between us and some of those, we try harder to ignore it Some might have to use a back up, jsut becaue they are cyling through, or their back up knows what sasked of them. we try harder to ignore or hold on or sign guys we know straight up dont work. Big difference.

I said Weeden may only give us a 1% chance to win but that is better than the 0% chance of a win with Showers. I am not defending Weeden at all. I do not like him. But out of the 3 we currently have, he is by far the best. I would like for them to go get someone that can actually play in the NFL to some degree, even if we had to give up a pick to do it.

im not saying you are wrong. I wil , oh wait he quit on us too. dang, ill get back to you. I dindt have a problem with Orton, but again i had a problem with how Dallas uses its back up QB, and i think he did as well. Had dallas gone about it properly, or at least from my comfy seat where i can say what i think is right. I think Orton would have stayed with us. We chose to not handle it correctly.

Way too big of a risk to try that, considering the goals of the team.

It be one thing if Showers was a tad more refined, but at the moment he is very raw as a QB.

If Romo were to be injured and miss the rest of a game, the coaches would not even think about putting in a guy like Showers over Weeden.

Weeden sucks, however, he is the best out of the bunch. I hope Showers can be stashed on the PS and work on his game so next year he could have a better shot at making the team.

If Heinike is cut from or placed on the PS for Minnesota I would put him on the roster as a 3rd QB.

Keep Weeden as #2 - Vaughn and Showers are worthless.

Orton just wanted to play. You only get so many years and he didn't want to finish his last 3 holding a clipboard.
