could be Bennett 2.0....
All he needs to do is mature and be receptive to coaching. They'll regret trading him soon enough.
MartyB?
MartyB is an incredibly talented player that just could get it together here. He couldn't learn all the plays or focus on game day. He had the ability to block almost like an OLineman and could be impossible to cover in practice.
He didn’t always hit the right holes or follow the specifics of a play. Seattle running backs are asked to hit “dark creases” — designated spots in the line where a hole might not exist one second before opening the next. Lynch does that better than anyone, and fullback Derrick Coleman once said the backs who don’t do that aren’t here anymore.

The man has 1 fumble in 14 career games. Such a fumble machine.![]()
In fairness he also has 3 preseason fumbles the last two years in 62 touches. That is, in fact, a fumble machine, depending how you count preseason fumbles.
When you aren't getting touches, it's easy to forget how to secure the ball...
I'm not defending him, but he did average almost 5 per carry... and he runs with extreme prejudice...
I'd like to give the kid a chance before writing him off...
