SeattleTimes: Christine Michael’s inconsistency proved to be his downfall with Seahawks

Thank for the link. The "Best RB drafted in the last 5 years" line was quotable for sure, however, this scares the hell out of me:

"As Michael neared the first-down marker — it was second-and-13 — he slowed up and stuttered before stepping out of bounds. Had he lowered his shoulder, had he used his powerful 221-pound body, he would have easily picked up the first down.

But as inexplicable as that decision was, it was what happened right after that cemented the play: Michael kept running into the end zone, yelling all the way, celebrating his run — and he hadn’t picked up the first down. He was immediately taken out of the game."

Michael's Wunderlic score was a 11 which isn't particularly surprising given what we've heard coming out of Seattle. The positive... he is still 2x as smart as Mo Claiborne... :)

His biggest gift is getting traded to the Cowboys and running behind this OL. There's 90+ RBs that are envious of him right now.

could be Bennett 2.0....

MartyB?

MartyB is an incredibly talented player that just could get it together here. He couldn't learn all the plays or focus on game day. He had the ability to block almost like an OLineman and could be impossible to cover in practice.

Well at least him and Tashard were pretty funny

He didn’t always hit the right holes or follow the specifics of a play. Seattle running backs are asked to hit “dark creases” — designated spots in the line where a hole might not exist one second before opening the next. Lynch does that better than anyone, and fullback Derrick Coleman once said the backs who don’t do that aren’t here anymore.

It's a good thing he will have gaping holes to run through.

In fairness he also has 3 preseason fumbles the last two years in 62 touches. That is, in fact, a fumble machine, depending how you count preseason fumbles.

When you aren't getting touches, it's easy to forget how to secure the ball...

I'm not defending him, but he did average almost 5 per carry... and he runs with extreme prejudice...

I'd like to give the kid a chance before writing him off...

Wasn't implying otherwise, just think a lot of people aren't seeing the preseason stats and thinking the fumbling rep is coming from the 1 recorded official fumble.

Fumbling can be fixed (or vaguely tolerated, as we did with Murray), not worried as much about that as all of the other mental blips Seattle has insinuated about him. I do think physically the sky is the limit behind this line for him if he has his head on straight.
