Official fumbles are not the only predictor of fumble issues, I figure Seattle coaches and press probably see the in practice also.

He has skills... I like the trade... Plus he WANTS to be here...

until he doesn't or does not get the carries he wants. The more I read the more I feel he feels like he is God's Gift to NFL RB, can't learn the playbook, can't pass block, can't secure the ball.

Im not too worried about what is coming out of seattle. the 1 and only thing keeping the ball out of his hands was that hes been behind arguably tge most dominant back in the league during his entire nfl career.

Thank for the link. The "Best RB drafted in the last 5 years" line was quotable for sure, however, this scares the hell out of me:

"As Michael neared the first-down marker — it was second-and-13 — he slowed up and stuttered before stepping out of bounds. Had he lowered his shoulder, had he used his powerful 221-pound body, he would have easily picked up the first down.

But as inexplicable as that decision was, it was what happened right after that cemented the play: Michael kept running into the end zone, yelling all the way, celebrating his run — and he hadn’t picked up the first down. He was immediately taken out of the game."
Michael's Wunderlic score was a 11 which isn't particularly surprising given what we've heard coming out of Seattle. The positive... he is still 2x as smart as Mo Claiborne... :)

this is hilariously dumb, hopefully he's gotten past some of this

Hopefully, this trade is Michael's wake up call and he realizes he's not nearly as good as he thinks he is.

I hope we are seeing the reverse of what happened here with TEs. We had talent in Fasano and Bennett. They couldn't show much behind an elite TR.

You've got a truly elite back in Lynch in Seattle. Guys behind him don't get much chance.

It all comes down to if he realizes his opportunity and has the self discipline to take advantage of it.

Hopefully the environment that coach Garrett is always talking about will do this kid some good. Interpreted as they better coach him up hard.

Anyone we brought in after cut day was going to have plenty of warts but I like the gamble on Michael. We put ourself in this situation so you might as well throw numbers at the position. I don't think michael's production in college warranted a second round pick but his athleticism does. Seattle has been a team that draft guys a little but differently. Some has hit big time.

Carroll has had good luck getting production from guys who may be described as iffy character guys. Sounds like they were ready to move on with Michael. Who knows maybe we catch lighting in a bottle.

Personally I would not be surprised if we pick up another back sometime during the year. Especially if randle or McFadden disappoint or get injured again.

MartyB?

MartyB is an incredibly talented player that just could get it together here. He couldn't learn all the plays or focus on game day. He had the ability to block almost like an OLineman and could be impossible to cover in practice.

Too bad he couldn't catch a simple pass half the time here.

I think Marty b is a good comparison. I may be off but I don't think either had the college production to be a second round pick but both were extremely highly rated in high school and have elite skills. Bennett has had a pretty decent career post dallas, but I don't think teams are too sad to see him leave. Maybe we can catch lightning In a bottle with Michael. Bennett had a pretty good lone season with the Giants before leaving for Chicago.

One thing to consider... immaturity can be magnified when a guy drafted that high sees no hope of ever seeing meaningful playing time. After SEA re-signed Lynch to his extension last year, Michael may have shut it down mentally because he was never going to be the starter there (barring injury). Not a good reaction, for sure. But here, his slate is clean. And there is no franchise RB blocking him from playing time. The best RB will play the most, period. I think we get his best effort because of that, and because he wants to be in Texas. And I think our simple, zone blocking offense fits his ability much better than SEA's zone read/"dark crease" system which requires much more patience. Ours is one-cut and go. Great trade IMO.

There's a reason a good organization gave the guy away for a conditional 7th.

He is what he is: somebody who's gonna have to be a lot smarter if he's going to help us significantly this season. Not that I'm concerned about the running game, anyway.

One thing that stood out to me in watching his highlights is that he struts around like a cocky SOB after nearly every solid gain.

Between him and Dez, opposing teams/fans are going to hate their GUTS, and you know what? I'm totally cool with that.

Nobody knows what might have gone through C-Mike's head in Seattle. It's fairly obvious his motivation wasn't what it should or could have been. He now has a chance to start anew with a team that offers him the best run blocking OL in the league to perform behind besides taking him where he wanted to be. If that doesn't light his fire, it's entirely possible nothing will.

If he is here primarily as insurance and a safety net against a limited RB corps as some say, then the modest sum this team gave up for him is totally appropriate. The Cowboys actually have little to lose, considering the real possibility that if he can somehow find himself, it should have us all doing cartwheels and dancing a jig.

He should be playing in Philly then... we made a fair offer to Murray...
