I'm almost tempted to bring in moss for a workout. I thought this before this morning, now more tempted than ever.

everything i read is the normal heal time is 10-12 weeks but a bone graft ENHANCES blood flow and thus speeds up recovery.

And now Ian Rapoport is defending his breaking news based on a text that Dez sent to Irvin about getting ready for the playoffs.

So Rappaport is reading Dez's texts to Irvin? And back peddling now?

As a 76er fan that has been waiting on Joel Embiid to play for two years this is definitely not good news. If I'm the Cowboys I would just put Dez on IR and go with what I have now. Let Dez rest his foot and make sure he's ready to go for next season.

Different situations. Embiid had a mid foot injury, the navicular bone, responsible for the foot's ability to arch. Also, He's close to 300lbs & still growing. He'd shown a penchant for stress fractures previously, having had one in his back while at Kansas.

I know the first things fans want to do is compare, it makes sense, and any surgery is serious.... but the situations are different.

The Cowboys will develop an identity while Dez is gone... and hopefully whatever the prognosis on his return, its a responsible one.

The season isn't over.... It's just beginning....

here's to good health

I mean something just does not add up and that is, if the team knew that he was going to be out for an extended period of time then why have they not put him short term IR with a designation to return. Am I misunderstanding the rules regarding IR?

Ed Werder on twitter says bone graft performed on Dez allows better chance at 6 week recovery, Cowboys are preparing for 8 weeks.

Take it for what it's worth. Like Dez said, don't believe all the craziness. Let's see where it's at in 1 month.

Ya, I am more willing to wait and see instead of believing Rapoport. He is about as reliable as an umbrella in a hurricane. Now if Schefter gets in on this and reports it then I will be more inclined to believe it.

could this get any worse

I swear I wish I was dreaming.

Dez is my favorite player. Meeting him last year and talking with him seeing how down to earth he was makes it worse. My profile picture on FB is me and Dez.

And this is going to be my first Cowboys game since Dez was signed that I will see live that he won't be playing (going to the Eagles game in November )
