Romo worshipers, don't bust an artery, but what if the Cowboys are 9-1?

The Drew Bledsoe/Tom Brady analogy has been thrown out there. So has the Joe Montana/Steve Young analogy. Any more former backups who eventually became/will become Hall of Famers that can be mentioned?

Yes, I'm about to commit blasphemy.....

Just imagine that the Cowboys are 9-1, perhaps even 10-0, by the time Tony Romo can get back on the field. Brandon Weeden is the top rated QB in the league, the Cowboys have the #1 offense and they are on a roll, an inevitable collision course with Super Bowl 5X.

Their next game is Thanksgiving against the Carolina Panthers, 8-2, and the 2nd best record in the NFC behind the Cowboys. Homefield advantage for the playoffs could very well depend on the outcome of this game.

Weeden's rise has been the story of this season....

Do you sit him and start Tony Romo, fresh from an injury, his ability to perform at his typical level in question?

Suppose Weeden continues to excel?

Notice, I never said that Tony Romo would perform poorly, I never said that he wouldn't perform like an All Pro future Hall o Famer. I'm just suggesting that his abilities would be unknown due to the effects of the injury, still not completely healed, he could perhaps be a tad rusty.

If Weeden leads the Cowboys to a Super Bowl, heck, just mentioning the possibility.....

Would that be a good thing or a bad thing for you Romo worshipers.

And am I officially a hater for daring to dream that Weeden might actually perform at a very high level with this offense?

Let the paranoid condemnation begin.....

What if Dan Bailey ends up as the QB and wins games. Does he remain the kicker and QB? What if Bailey also plays CB? Do they bench Claiborne? What if Bailey also starts coaching the team? Do they fire Garrett?

What if TO comes back and leads the league in receiving?

What if Herschel Walker comes back and leads the lead in rushing?

If you really need attention I've heard there are better internet sites than CZ for that type of thing.

this is getting WAY WAY WAY out of hand now.

we all know they'd convert bailey to safety first.

For me it has always been team before individual, right now all I care about is Cowboys winning be it with Weeden, Cassel or Moore I don't care. It is all about winning games.

He hates the fans he considers to only care about Romo and not the Cowboys overall. So it's not Romo-hate or Weeden-love. It's fan hate. He thinks they are not true fans, as he is the only judge of true fandom.

I actually don't think there is any such thing as Weeden-love, unless that's his mom posting.

The OP's avatar is very similar to a guy that posted really dumb stuff at The Ranch message board in the past.

None. I'd use Hayden and run the triple read option. No one will expect that.

We can run the Golden Cock down opposing team's throats.

Talk about starting a thread for no other reason than to excite the masses. What evidence to you have that supports our post? One pass to Williams?

Exactly. This is a troll. What if Butler gets 5 touch downs every game? Drop Dez?

I actually toyed with this thought... not quite to this extreme though... 9-1/10-0.... Throw it in the category of an awesome problem to have and we'll cross that bridge when we get there. If he beats ATL... we'll re-discuss. Fair?

This is stupid. Even if the Cowboys are 9-0 when Romo is healthy again he will be the starter. PERIOD. He gives us the best chance to win.

This thread is moot. There's no such thing as "Romo fans who don't love the Cowboys."

But there are PLENTY of "Romo haters who love the Cowboys." They're all clowns who don't understand football, but they exist.

Doesn't matter how well Weeden does, realistically, Romo is our starter the day he is cleared by the medical staff.

The OP's avatar is very similar to a guy that posted really dumb stuff at The Ranch message board in the past.

There was once a time where OJ produced some quality posts.

It wouldn't matter to me if Weeden found Joe Montana's shoes, set the earth on fire and single handily took this team to 10-0, this is Romo's team

My wife says Romo is the problem and we will never win with him.We will see.I think Weeden will surprise. He was a first rounder for a reason. He is in a contract year I think Jerry ought to consider an extension. If he plays well he will be gone next year.He might be a starter elsewhere depending on how he does.Anybody in a contract year is trying their hardest so you might well be right.

I do think Romo looked old man last week even before he got hurt.I thought I heard he had to take pain killer before the game can somebody confirm that.

My girlfriend says between the coaching changes, the lack of a defense, the lack of an offensive line and some timely dropped passes over the last nine years combined with some plain old bad luck, Tony would've won at least one Super Bowl by now. She also said early in the season he looked like a guy who needed some reps since neither he or the offensive line really played much in the pre season and by week four they would both be lighting it up. My girlfriend is pretty astute.

She also says I use her to express my own opinion to gauge what others say - I can't wait to show her my post.
