Going into week 3 it is time to start thinking about who is going to have to be cut in Week 5 to make room for the return of McClain and Hardy.

We have 4 running backs on the 53 man roster, but I don't see them cutting anyone.

I'm thinking Keith Smith and Ken Bishop.

With Romo and McClain on IR I don't think we have to worry about it until after Romo comes back.

Probably nobody. Injuries tend to take care of this naturally.

Have they replaced Terrell McClain's roster spot?

Your 2nd thread in less than 2 hours. Very consistent.

They likely drop Kellen Moore back to the practice squad for 1 spot. They could have an injury in the next 2 games that makes the decision easier.

Kellen Moore's gonna get cut for sure. We're not carrying 4 QBs after week 5.

And probably Keith Smith will get cut. Can't see us going even shorter at DT with McClain done for the year.

Romo's on IR. You won't have four QBs for a while, and they like Moore and don't want to expose him to waivers.

Smith too valuable on special teams.

They only need to make one spot.

Who really believes Ro McClain is going to be ready to go the minute he arrives?

I'd bet Hardy shows up raring to go, while McClain needs a few weeks to get in shape.

Unless injuries occur, and let's hope not.
If Weeden doesn't flop, and Cassell is up to speed on the offense. Then Moore will go back to the PS. Most likely I would say K. Smith gets cut, and I believe he has some PS eligibility left too.

They like Moore so much they had him on the practice squad and traded for Cassel instead of letting him be the sole backup.

Smith plays on 1/3 of special teams snaps, he's not indispensable.

Moore was on the practice squad where anybody could claim him and they didn't.

+1

Otherwise its K. Smith or Lucky (as likely to clear waivers and PS eligible )

True. I just don't think they'll need to do anything the way injuries happen. I just hope Rolando McClain isn't dead weight for two weeks after he's eligible.

Lucky could probably clear waivers, Bishop has been inactive both games and has no ST value and loses depth even more with Hardy, so probably he would be one of them.

He sure was ready last year, no?

We'll still need the roster spot for him.
