Twitter: JG: Rolando McClain Update

Great to hear. It sounds to me like Rolando has grown up a little bit and realized what a blessing and an opportunity has been given to him.

Pair that with Dallas' history of doing well with "troubled" players and it seems like his passion for football has been rekindled.

Hope you're right...he has a lot of talent and is an impact type player.

You know the first thing they are going to do when Rolando gets back is give him a drug test. I hope he knows this.

I'm confused. Is he referring to how he was during training camp or now? If it's now, I thought suspended players couldn't be at the facility. If it's not now, then how is this an update?

Man, I'm telling you. If he keeps his head on straight, he's going to be beasting right along with Lee.

Its obvious if you read the quote he said he's allowed to be in meetings

McClain's instincts are what surprised me the most last season. I think I am more excited about Lee and McClain playing together than Hardy finally playing his first game. I think Lee and McClain could be a special linebacking duo.

Does that mean Hardy too? I thought thy couldn't be there at all. Happy to be wrong though.

Under the terms of his suspension, Hardy is banned from the team’s Valley Ranch facility. McClain is not. While McClain is permitted to work out and attend meetings there, he is prohibited from practicing. Both McClain and Hardy are eligible to return to the team Oct. 5, and the Cowboys will have to make two corresponding transactions to make room for their roster additions.

Im only guessing but maybe since Hardy is conduct related and McClain is substance abuse they are treated differently.

Drug suspended are allowed with the team. The belief is that if a guy has problems staying away from drugs, it is counter productive to keep him away from the support system offered by the team.

Misconduct suspended are not. Hardy is going to beat women regardless of whether he's around teammates or not.
