Weeden is not capable of managing a game

I have serious question. Not a rant.

How is it that the cowboys organization doesn't know or realize that Brandon is not good for anything to us?

We could have and should have prepared a better backup starting last year or right after draft.

We kissed 3-0 goodbye...

We are 2-1

Let's say we go 3-5 in 8 games

5-5 That's almost flat line if any crap team goes on win streak.

We are asking a lot of romo and company to go 5-1 when they return.

My point is... A better backup maybe it's a 1-2 game swing... They go 4-4 or 5-3

Only asking romo and co to go 4-2 or 3-3

while i agree...we need to move on from this woulda, coulda, shoulda.

we need to focus on the saints, and tony needs to focus on week 11 through the end of the season.

I think the play calling has a lot to do with it also.
The O line held up their side in pass blocking.

in the first half, the 2nd half we got destroyed on that front. they kept moving more up and blitzing knowing what we were having to do

I disagree, he managed the Philly game and outside of 1 pass, managed the falcons game. What's more accurate to say, is we can't expect a QB to manage us to victory when we are missing Dez Bryant, Ronald Leary, Jeremy Mincey, Randy Gregory, Greg Hardy and Rolondo McClain.

managing includes not going 3-out every series in the 2nd half. That killed anything our defense had by being gassed out.

And then the play caller has to move the pocket which they did a few times with good results.

Keep something in your back pocket for the 2nd half.

When all you expect the QB to do is manage and the RB goes from 91 yards total to 87 yards total, those are the results you get.

Not saying Weeden played well, but by definition, he managed the game. And no one on offense could make a guy miss and no one on defense could tackle worth a damn.

If your offense puts up 28 points with a backup quarterback, you should count your blessings. You can't expect a whole lot better from a backup quarterback.

Personally,,I'm not sure it's worth it, exactly for the 3-5 reason. That's why I started "The Tank Thread" last week, which inexplicably got moved to the Rant Zone. Maybe they should bring it back.

Although I certainly dont like Weeden, this game was lost by the defense. As pointed out prior, if you cant get to Ryan with the pass rush, him and Julio will destroy you and that is exactly what happened. And they ran the ball all over us.

Without Gregory and the Kraken, this defense was exposed.

I always liken the team to a wheel. Any flat spot makes the whole ride bouncy. Knowning weeden was using checkdowns and not going to air it out, was the killer point. Weeden was the flat spot.

Oh, I agree, but that's the definition of managing. Get the ball in the playmakers hands and let them make a play. And none did in the second half.

We are just fans. We are totally irrelevant to the outcome of the games.
I love the message board coach speak. Now go get out there and fight fight fight!!!!!!

I did not see anything outside one mistake that Weeden can't hold down the fort in this past game. He did what was asked of him, his passes where accurate hitting targets in stride. I think 2nd half Dallas should have tried to get the ball down field as Alt was allowing short passes and coming up making tackles they where not making in the 1st half. Weeden was not going to bring what Romo does but I think Weeden did what was being asked of him

You don't abandon the run.
Whether they work or not you have to take shots downfield.

We ran a "prevent offense" in second half.

If you want to shut down the run, for the most part you can in this league. You simply stack the box with 9 or 10 guys. That is what they did in the 2nd half. They forced us to pass the ball and Weeden couldnt come through. It also forces us to stop the clock with incomplete passes.

But again, the defense blew this game.

True.

But again... It was both. Everything is connected. It's a "team" effort.
