So is it the OL or is it the RB


I know it may depend on how the other RB's do also in their opportunities.
But much will depend on of the rest of the team do their job, and what type of D are they running against, and all of that...

I just hope he kicks arse in his scheme of the game plan. As well as the others too.

yeah he said on Monday that the 3rd and 1 before the end of the first quarter where Randle could have laid down to get the yard but instead danced around in the back and lost yards was enough to make the cowboys reconsider the lead back position and practice on Wednesday would probably be its most competitive to date. alas... i for one hope he gets a few looks on sunday i mean whats the harm.

I think if the line plays well, all the HBs would play well.

In that case situational football likley dictates who does what. Randle and Michael are both talented runners that excell at dfferent things, but while I don't think neither are deficient, McFadden is still your best all around back in terms or running, receiving and blocking. Depending on the opponent and situation the " man" could change from week to week and even quarter to quarter.

I think Dunbar gives you the ability to take all 3 because he can line up in the slot and outside so you can go short at WR

Fish's angle thjs week has been that there would be a competition at HB this week that Michael would be very involved in and that Wednesday would be the crucial day

As far as info, its Fish so it could go either way

I think you have to sit McFadden because Randle is slightly more durable.

I would sit Randle, because McFadden is more explosive, more versatile and better in pass pro. Randle is either the lead back or on the bench if Cowboys do not want 4 active.

Let Dunbar be the slot wide receiver and move the smurf to the outside. Then activate Christane and let him handle all goal line situations or if we actually have a short yardage situation. I'm guessing Dunbar can handle the slot. Hell, Dunbar isn't a ball carrier anyway unless its an occasional draw. He works in space well, but he's a tough as some of the cheap paper towels.

I activate 4 rb's this week and sit the Clutts. Give hima series or two and all short yardage and if successfull, give him a larger role going forward.

not from what I have been seeing. Randle is impatient and doesn't let several plays develop and he runs into trash. Listen to Broddius break down film of him. It isnt that pretty. Not horrible either. But for guy calling out Murray for leaving meat on bone. He has left alot of yardage out there.

Hmm. I've heard Broaddus say that, and that we ought to be starting McFadden, but I have to say, I don't really know what he's talking about. I"m not seeing a lot of holes getting missed, and I see a fairly patient runner who's getting some difficult yards.
In fact, if we bring up Michael, I think it's probably McFadden who sits. And while I"ve seen DMC make some nice runs when there's a hole to be had, he also runs into a brick wall an awful lot. He's the back I think needs to be a bit more patient on some of his runs if there's not an opening to squeeze through. Broaddus loves him for some reason, and keeps pushing him, despite the fact that the team has very obviously been promoting Randle as the leadoff back from day one of the offseason. I don't really get it, honestly.

If Michael is a power back, he's the kind of back that we need in the offense, with Randle and/or McFadden doing the complimentary work. Last game shows what happens when teams focus on stopping the run and we don't have a running back that can continually plow forward.

People here need to stop labeling this guy a goal line back and need to stop saying he can't pass protect. Let the guy play a little and then go from there. Give him a couple of series, in game. Feed him the rock, set up a screen play and allow him to pass protect before you judge. I think a lot of you guys who are doubting will be shocked.
