The Garrett bashing is trite, tired, and lacking in truth

I wouldn't argue with that notion. Like I said, style is style. Everyone has a different one. However, bottom line, you better be stacking Ws on top of Ws regardless of style.

exactly----- In the famous words of Bill Parcels, “you are what your record says you are”

― Jason Garrett (w/Franchise QB and HOF players)
2010 5-3
2011 8-8
2012 8-8
2013 8-8
2014 12-4
2015 ? (2-2now)
Playoffs 1-1
Says AVERAGE in every since of the word.

Average = NYJets, Chargers, Bills, Dolphins, Titians, amongst others. If being average meets your expectations then Garrett is the man.

So I'm going back six seasons, while including the seasons up to that point to talk about Garrett's TENURE here coaching and the instability around it.. Thank you..

You're...welcome? Yes, some of the things you're trying to pretend are signs of instability happened less than 6 years ago. It doesn't change the fact that they're not good examples.

Just to provide the stats:

Cowboys 3 and out percentage rank (Lower is better):
2009 - 1st
2010 - 16th
2011 - 6th
2012 - 3rd
2013 - 7th
2014 - 3rd

To look a little further, here's the plays per drive ranking:

2007 - 17
2008 - 27
2009 - 5
2010 - 7
2011 - 9
2012 - 4
2013 - 21
2014 - 12
2015 (through 4 games) - 10

Unless you want to absolve Garrett.. Then there are always excuses of instability attributed to everybody but him..

If the attributions are imaginary, then, yes, you are right. People will absolve him of imaginary criticism.

Much better than I would think.

That being said their pts per drive were average or below, even in the years when their 3 and outs were among the best. The implication being they weren't getting in scoring range and I'm sure if you modify it to 2 series per drive and stalling, they'd top the list as is confirmed by their position in terms of scoring per drive.

The indication being, they moved the ball at times but couldn't score. Like I said, a lot of it was because of Romo in hurry up who masked the horrible play calling. I never doubted they were among the best in terms of yardage.

He just got play call duties taken away from him, you know what everybody attributed his genius too, because he was just too good..be even your admitting now he's not a great game-day coach.

So he can't call plays and now can't even coach game day... What exactly can he do?

So you don't have the stats right...

And why are you shifting the goalposts regarding red zone percentages? When did I say scoring in the red-zone stats weren't compiled?

Are you smoking right now? You brought up red zone percentages (same thing as efficiency). Furthermore, the burden isn't on me to pull stats (someone else did it anyway). Burden of proof is on the initial claim, not the contention.

Win.

its never going to be decided, anything short of 1 win (yes i know) Garrett defenders will defend him. Garrett critics will just point out the evidence. The rest is up to oneself.

one thing to consider is that if JG were fired today, do you really think the jones would hire a good coach ?? and give him control of draft, FA, etc?
no they would hire another puppet coach, so JG might be the best , if you consider who they would actually hire.
I guarantee they would not hire whoever you might want hired.
Just look at who was hired in the past, not counting Jimmy.

When did I say that Garrett had no input? Show me where I said that.

Then why did you ask me for a link and accused me of talking out of my *** when I said it was his offense that Linehan tweaked?

Jason Garrett doesn't listen to the criticism, he's too busy trying to do the best he can with what he has. I doubt he even reflects too much on the devastating injuries like we do.

Times like these bring the best out in Garrett. Remember, he started this gig by turning a 1-7 first half team into a 5-3 2nd half team....with a backup quarterback who got hurt in game #15. He actually won with Stephen McGee.

In 2012 they faced devastating injury again. They ended the season with starters they got off the streets only a weak earlier.

And has Jason Garrett ever had a losing season?

The team his constantly gone through big changes and Garrett just lowers his head and continues to work.

The Cowboys will get through this and they will be stronger as a result, don't lose faith. The situation will test the team's resolve but they will continue to stick to their plan, working hard and getting better in the long run.

If that's the criteria for being a good coach, then Chip Kelly must be a genius going 10-6 in his first two seasons. And Chippy has done it with Nick Foles and Mark Sanchez as his QBs.

This is how it works with JG's fan club:

All the good roster moves are because of JG. All the bad roster moves are Jerry's fault.

When he was the OC, all the bad things that happened with the offense was because of Wade. Wade was the HC so he should be blamed for everything that was bad including the offense.

Now JG is the HC, when a unit does bad, it's not JG's fault but the coordinator's fault (Rob Ryan, Callahan).

JG walks on water and he deserves none of the blame because he can do no wrong.
