Until Romo got hurt most believed he would be coach of the year this year again. Should have won it last year.

Only the Garrett punks thought that. Its quite clear that this team is about Tony Romo. Not Jason Garrett or anyone else.

Give Romo a great run game or great defense to pair with himself and we are instant contenders. Give Romo both and we are SB winners.

Take Romo away and all the expert fanny patting in the world by Garrett doenst make a bit of difference.

Well, you would be one of the few. There was a dearth of anti-Garrett rants on here last year when we went 12-4. Of course, we could have gone 12-4 in spite of Garrett. Last year could have been the aberration, but who can dispute that with a healthy Romo and Dez, we have a better record right now and the anti-Garrett sentiment is reduced?

As there should have been. Ranting about a coach who rebuilds the roster, puts a good staff in place, helps the organization get the cap into good shape, retools how we draft and our success drafting, and then assembles one of the better personnel groups in the league just makes people look foolish. People don't like to look foolish if they can help it.

Some can't help it.

Meanwhile, watching it slowly dawn on some that QB play is important in the NFL has it's own rewards. They're meager rewards, because they come with watching the team struggle, but it is still amusing watching the attempted reconciliation between the performance on the field and the confusion over why the problem isn't actually with the running game, after all.

I'll say it again. I don't see how you can evaluate the coach when there are this many injuries.

The injuries really are the simplest and best explanation for why the offense isn't better.

There have been some coaching issues, like there always are. Especially when you're subbing in a lot of players like we were with the LBs in NOLA last week. But, by and large, we're looking bad because we're playing a bad QB and have bad options in the passing game. It's not rocket science.

So basically the reason we have gone from 12-4 is injuries to talent? Specifically Romo and Dez.

I completely agree.

Thanks for admitting in a round about way that the 12-4 season had nothing to do with the "process" or coaching of Jason Garrett. He is completely inconsequential either way. A organizer figure head that is better off staying out of the way. Consequently, when you really need a head coach to be a head coach, like this year, his warts and inability to be a REAL head coach rear their ugly head.

And lets just put to bed your laughable, now infamous homer line that "we will be fine" with this sorry stable of running backs. And your now historical blunder of a line that "I think these coaches know what wins games". LOL Referencing passing the ball over running the ball. Of course your laughable implication forgot what might happen if your #1 QB goes down and the passing game goes out the window. How are you going to win games if not by pounding the ball now?

Its amazing that after only 5 games, 80% of the drivel you fed me in the off season has been proven dead wrong. LOL

And all the while you acting like some high and mighty know it all. Too funny. Time to go back to school on what it take to win in the NFL. And while you are there, brush up and football coaching 101.

Sorry, Roy, but I'm just gonna completely ignore your posts until you come up to speed with what it takes to be a better poster. Between the tone and the bad arguments, I don't have the time or inclination to respond in full.

I do, of course, stand by 100% of everything I've said on the related topics. And 0% of your characterization of it. The posts are there for the record if anybody cares to see which if us had a clue in the first place.

Welcome back after your time off, by the way.

So your claim that the RB combo would be "just fine"? How did that laughable comment turn out for you? Oh wait, its the Olines fault? of course, because then you would dead wrong. Like you are most of the time. Did you see the article showing that the Cowboys Oline was rated #1 in the NFL in run blocking in 2015? Want me to post if for you? I guess I could educate you a little bit more.

You may not like my style, but I have shown a resoundingly better grasp of football and the Cowboys than you have. Tuck tail and hid if you like.

Exactly. I wouldn't want to get ripped. It's very traumatizing.

Cheers, dude.

Do you remember Jerry's drunken rant to some fans in a bar about Parcells and only getting him because of the Stadium?

The only guy Jerry might consider is Sean Payton because they're friends.

And how long ago was that, X?

I think age has finally got Jerry. He's not the same. Where he once was impetuous and cocky - he seems slow and reflective. Garrett is his guy. He groomed him, he hand picked him and he stayed with him through the growing pains. More than anything, his guy got him to within one game of the Super Bowl and the team made the moves necessary to get to the Super Bowl again this year - but it was dealt a bad clavicle (even though it's not over yet).

Jason isn't going anywhere and Jerry is going with him hell or high water until the Romo years play out - as he should.

What I really cannot understand is how Garrett, a person who graduated from an Ivy league university, can be so akward as a thinking coach. He makes the stupidest mistakes in clock management, in allowing silly penalties like not having the right number of players on the field. He never anticipates the corrections that other coaching staffs will make after half time and he never, never adjusts our game plan after half time. Whatever the game plan is, is sacrosanct whether it is working or not.

You are a sad sad individual....I have nothing but pity for you; your constant insults and belittling are just a projection of your own inward emptiness and lacking sense of self-worth. Again, I have nothing but pity for you. Socialization and having a rational conversation with another person is probably not your strength, neither on this message board nor in society I imagine.

This is a dumb thread

This is a dumb thread? I believe this is fundamental to the manner this team competes. And unfortunately, the team is reflective of its coach. The vanilla game plan, the failure to adjust, the tolerance for average or below average performances, the race to peric victories and losing with dignity. You want to denigrate this thread? You want to continue to watch this level of performance? Then yes, this is a dumb thread. Welcome to 8 and 8.

Name a coach that wins when they lose their two best players the first two weeks of the year and their best player on defense is made of glass ....... I will wait.

P.S. the answer is .......... this thread is dumb.

Guys like you that applaud ineptitude and things that hold back this great franchise dont deserve to be fans.

Quite ironically, it was you who out of nowhere started attacking my person. Talk about a hypocrite?

Right. Yet he almost won coach of the year.

Almost? Enough said. And we can see quite clearly that he owes it all to one Tony Romo. Without Romo, Howdy Doody looks like exactly what he is...........a joke.

Coach of year is about wins and losses. The 3 years prior he was on the hot list as most likely to get fired. Or is this just another thing about football you dont understand?

Garrett just isnt a football guy. He simply doesnt have the instincts of the game to be a good coach. Not with personnel and not with in game management. He has no feel. He is all theory and study. What he has basically done is taken things from all the great minds he has been around and parrots that into his regiment. But again, nothing comes from inside of him. He doesnt do what he would do, he does what he thinks others would do that he has known to be great.

In other words, he is a complete fraud. Troy Aikman said it best that he would be a great President. He is a politician, not a football coach. EVERY interview he has EVER had he nailed. Got everyone so impressed with how smart he is and likeable. Got Jones to buy in and actually give the guy a job. Then hand him the keys despite the countless blunders as an OC.

And with Jerry running the football management side of the franchise, you have two NON football clowns running things. Blatant stupid mistakes that destroy one year after another.

-Dont get a good RB to replace Murray?
-Have Weeden as your ONLY option if Romo were to go down?
-Completely pass over QB's in the draft that are higher then position players because you think short term instead of long term.

All mind blowing gaffs by the brass that have now comeback to destroy what could have been a possible championship season.
